Weather sacks broadcast!....Falcons win at UB by 25

Post by NY-BG-FAN »

Unfortunatly, the bad weather in BG tonight shut down our transmitter at 88.1....the station will be out for a little while. I drove about an hour and a half to call tonight's Women's hoops game in Buffalo, but we lost transmission at about the 10 minute mark of the first half...and my partner and I were forced to pack up. Hopefully everything works for the Hockey games Friday and Saturday. Sorry to anyone who started to listen....it takes REALLY bad weather for our transmitter to go down. If you're in BG now...take it easy on the roads. BG won though, 70-45.....here's to 1-0 in the MAC! Go Falcons!

I am no longer hiding behind the alias wmnshoopsfan. Not that I was actually ever hiding. I just didn't like the name. It was kind of old-man-ish.

Congrats to the women tonight on a solid win to start MAC play. I know we are all looking for more of those MAC wins in the weeks to come.

BEAT WMU!!!

Also a congrats to the men who also beat a tough Buffalo team on the 2nd to open the MAC. That was a great win to start the year!

The Ladies are rolling!!! 5 straight wins for BG. Anytime you can pick up a road win in this league, it's a plus. And to win by 25? Coach Miller is now over .500 for his coaching record at BG. Liz Honegger led BG with 14 points while Carin Horne and Ali Mann each chipped in 13. BG is now 8-4, 1-0 MAC!
I am trying to plan a trip up on 1/22 for the hoops DH but if I don't make it, looks like my first chance to see the team play live will be 1/26 at Kent.

BTW, since losing to New Mexico in the tourney, BG has outscored the opposition by an average of 74-57. And the Falcons have held opponents to 60 points or less in 4 of 5 games. WAY TO GO BG!

Next up? WMU at Kalamazoo this sat. I was at the Gund the last time these two teams met...and Lindsay Austin hit that running shot in the lane to give BG the 63-62 win in the MAC tourney! I think the Broncos will be ready! BIG GAME for BG!

GO FALCONS!! BEAT WMU!!

No doubt

There's no doubt this game will be huge. WMU lost twice last year on a final second Lindsay Austin jumper.

And speaking of Lindsay Austin, I was nervous going into this year thinking we had no one to run offensive point. Defensively I knew we were OK with Tene, but Tene has really filled the shoes of an exciting senior year by Austin and on Tene's heels is Kate. These two are fun to watch.

Go out and support the women! BEAT WMU!!!

The transmitter froze over, the station will be down until the ice melts off it. Just one of those things. Everything should be all set for the Hockey broadcast tonight.
