It's football season again!

Post by Pete Segaard »

Logan is now in Junior High football (7th Grade) and no longer has a need for a waterboy at practice. Bittersweet. He made it through weight training, conditioning, offensive workouts (that doesn't sound right), and tryouts and after three years of playing tight end/split end he is now playing half back. That came as a total shock to me but Logan is completely stoked. He likes to open up holes (see parentheses above) and catching the ball out of the backfield (he caught a pass and ran 50 yards for a TD at practice yesterday). Can't wait for gameday.

My youngest son Spencer is bummed as Oak Harbor has not let 4th graders play PeeWee football this year.

So here is to a season of good clean, safe, and healthy football.

My youngest is also in 7th grade. Surviving so far, but I think he has a different position everytime I ask him about it. FB, O-Line, D-Line, CB, LB....

How is the OH varsity supposed to be this season? BGHS is scrimmaging OH Friday night and my oldest is starting at TE and SS for BG.

Not sure how well they are going to play this year. My nephew is a Sophmore playing on the line. What time is the scrimmage? I may run into BG to watch, If I attend I will be wearing an Oak Harbor Rockets jersey #45/Segaard, feel free to throw popcorn at me (just make sure it is popped popcorn).

The freshman are playing at 5:30 and then the varsity and jv after that. Probably around 7 I'm guessing. I'll probably be spending a lot of time in the concession stand area. My wife and I are in charge of feeding all these kids after playing tomorrow. We have hot dogs, buns and cookies stashed everywhere in our house right now!
