Re: Diyral Briggs is a beast!
I thought he looked pretty good against Minnesota. According to the box score, he had 2 tackles, 1 assist, and 1 sack. However, when he was in, he was in or around almost every tackle. When I was watching it on TV, I saw #50 in the picture on almost each tackle. He is definitely hustling out there.

That's very good news to hear. Briggs must might stick in San Fran if he keeps working like that and the coaches like him enough. I wanna try and see this next pre-season game for the niner's if I can.

He picked off Painter at one point, and it seemed like all throughout the second and third quarter he was camping out in the backfield, getting a couple of hits on the QB and was part of several hurries. And it seemed like he attracted some great attention from the announcers too!
Since that season Thomas has only gone on to be a top 5 pick, and make 3 consecutive pro bowls. He's hand's down the best LT on the planet right now, and it still blows my mind how Briggs ate him up.
I don't know if he'll ever make it at the NFL, but it wouldn't surprise me if he does.
I hate to rain on the parade, because I am a big fan on Mr.Briggs, but against Wisconsin, BG managed one sack and it wasn't Briggs who got to Flacco, it was Devon Parks. Joe Thomas only gave up two sacks his last season at Wisconsin, and one was against BG! We did have some pressure, but not enough to knock off the Badgers on that day.

D'oh! You're right! I was thinking of Devon Parks. Thomas was beaten handily in that game, even if he only did give up the one sack. Parks had a great game.falconfan1999 wrote:hammb wrote:I didn't see the game, but my appreciation for Diryall Briggs has only grown as I've watched Joe Thomas play. Looked at the most recent box score for the 49'rs and Briggs does appear anywhere in the defensive stats. Hope this doesn't mean too much.

I was wondering what happened? Gamebook says he played. He's played at least half the game the first two preseason games. Hope he didn't get injured.
