Corey Begins Coaching Career

Post by Spart43 »

Here is a short and not well written article about Corey beginning his coaching career back at his High School. Short video interview included.

He is really excited to be working with the kids and I think he is having a change of heart about coaching. Maybe we will see him coaching WRs at BG sometime in the future.

Good for Corey! And best of luck in his new career!

It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

Tonight at 5:30pm, the Loveland Tigers will take the field against the Turpin Spartans in the Cross Town Show Down at Mason HS. This game marks the coaching debut of BGSU and Loveland HS alumni Corey Partridge.

Corey was brought on by Loveland HS as a WR coach, but as summer camp moved forward, Corey was asked to put in their passing game. Corey is now managing their passing offense and making situational play calls.

The game will be televised on Fox Sports Cincinnati, starting with the pregame show at 5:00pm and kick off scheduled for 5:30pm.

24-6 Turpin, sadly for Corey.

Yes, 24-6. Not a bad game, its been awhile since I have been to a High School football game, quite different from what I have become use to watching at BG. Loveland started a sophomore QB, He threw the ball pretty well, as you can imagine they ran quite a few passing plays that I recognized from Corey's BG days. Had some really good drives but 5 turnovers killed them. There is potential there and I think as they get use to this offense then they will do fine. I talked to Corey after the game and asked him about the different perspective of being a coach instead of the player. He said its really different but he also really enjoyed the experience and really likes working with the kids. He also said there was a lot of confusion going on and they will sort that out this coming week. So hopefully they can build on this and continue to get better each week (coaches speak here). It's good experience for Corey and everybody in the community is happy to have him, most still remember his exploits on the field for Loveland and they view him as a good motivator for the kids.

I will try and keep you posted on the season.
