Anyone else have a problem with OSU fans saying the Big 10 is wrong for changing tradition because they are after money. Isn't that exactly what the bucks do w/ the unfair slanted 8 home v 4 away games per season. I definitely see the issue of moving the UM game but calling out the Big 10 for a money grab is absurd. Th...e entire college football landscape is unfair because of the BCS and scheduling money grabs.
How will the Big Ten lose money moving that game? its OK when OSU does it, even though it completely destroys the competitive landscape of college sports in the favor of OSU, but its not ok when the Big Ten does it. The reality is that if OSU (and all other majors) were forced to play a 6home game 6 away game schedule they would lose more games. The home team wins 75% of out of conference games.OSU doesnt want competitive balance...competitive balance leads to a better product
The university of Miami is going to Toledo to play a game next year. The restults of that game in terms of boosting fan support for Toledo will be immeasureable. This is a rare occasion but would happen all the time if it was a 6-6 schedule. Imagine if the Browns got 10 home games and the Steelers got 6. Its absurd to even think about. No wonder they win all the time. Your arguments are just a case of the haves, making the rules to keep the have nots down.

I love the idea of all teams in the FBS having 6 home and 6 away games. This would help generate fan support for smaller schools by making the big boys go to their house more often to play. The only drawback I can see would be the loss of the payday games that many small programs rely on.

But it would increase the payday that many of the smaller/mid major schools are getting squeezed out of by not playing the BCS schools.

Re: OSU fans whining about Big 10 going for the money
OSU plays no more than one non-conference game they have even the faintest chance of losing in a given season. Only two other teams in their conference can match them from a budget and resources perspective and thus regularly recruit at their level (Penn State, Michigan) and the latter of those two has squandered their structural edge and stumbled around for the past few years. Plus, they've avoided having to play an end of season conference championship game.
It's a miracle they haven't played in the national championship game every year.

Ohio State fans debate the tradition of burning BFI dumpsters vs. Waste Management dumpsters. They'll get over it.
