This may be old news for some, but I just found out today that my college roommate from my Sophomore year at BG passed away back in December 2009. We also attended the same High School.
I was out of state at the time and somehow missed it.
Mark was a Lieutant Colonel in the Air Force from the Toledo area. He was trimming trees in his yard and was struck and killed by a speeding car.

Not what I expected to read when I opened up my high school alumni newsletter today.
Survived Iraq as a fighter pilot and killed by a car in his own yard.

Sorry to hear that, bro. Just a tragedy the way that happened.

I understand you on that one. A friend of mine survived three tours in Afghanistan and died in a training accident at Fort Bragg.

Saw that in the Blade. So sorry for your loss. Lucky enough to survive working in a war zone...and then to get killed in your own yard AT HOME!! Life just doesn't seem fair sometimes....
"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second."

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

Re: College Roomate passed away
Mitch,
I think I know how you feel.... I lost my old college roomie (quite a few years ago, prior to my wife's passing)... He was a retired Marine Col. who "survived" Viet Nam. Was an excellent track athlete on BG's track team while we were in school. Died of a heart attack while sitting on front porch of his summer home. Guess it's what some people say, "when it's your time, it's your time"...
