...the organ in the Ice Arena?

In other words, why did we stop using it? Is it still there behind that box above the skate shop? Is it still in working order? Just wondering.

Maybe they moved it to Anderson Arena. I keep hearing an organ version of the Star Spangled Banner being played everytime the band isn't there...

McMetz, I'm pretty sure that was just a recording. I must admit that it did feel like a hockey game, though! I was a bit confused for more than a couple of seconds.

Where are you Falcon Fanatic? I would think that you would know better than anyone! I really want to find out what happened to the organ, for reasons that you and I (FF) have talked about before.

From what I understand the organ is no longer there. Whether they sold it or just dumped it, I don't know, but it's gone. Don't look for one to be coming back anytime soon.

I guess that means Reg Dunlop never has to worry about them playing "Lady of Spain."

That's an obscure hockey movie reference for you young 'uns.

No crap! Just because we're young doesn't mean we don't like good, funny movies! :)

And I would hardly call slapshot "obscure", it has to be the most widely viewed hockey movie ever...except, of course, for the Mighty Ducks! LOL

You guys have seen it, we 'lived' the music and clothes. (I've got Maxine Nightengale going through my mind right now)

I meant the "Lady of Spain" part was obscure, not the movie.

I once played "Lady of Spain" on a real honest- to-God, bellows-and-all, church pipe organ. Loved the footwork.
All is for the best in this best of all possible worlds.
