Did anyone attend the function at the "Doyt" tonight?

Post by factman »

The start to the "New season" was held tonight , I guess, and we tried to get there, but....................with the soccer tournament going on and 5 bazillion (that more than a trillion) cars parked all over, and stadium drive and alumni drive closed, it was about impossible to find a parking spot closer than Carter Park!!!!! (ok, slight exageration), so we passed it up and headed uptown for a few beverages.
Hmmmmmmm.......................................I wonder who planned those events in conjunction with each other?

First one of these I've missed. Camping at Maumee Bay for the weekend! Wonder how well it was attended, given the parking situation.
"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second."

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

Plenty of parking North of SEBO. They had an attendant standing at the road closed gate to let people through for the Fall sports kickoff. Probably the most well attended event yet due to all the people wearing soccer cleats in line for free ice cream. My kids did have just as much fun as always though.

Lot L, north of Sebo was COMPLETELY full when we got thru, and whether it was soccer or event parking, I do not know.

I parked at my great Aunt's over at Stadium View, and walked over with Ben. He had a good time, the motor cycle was his favorite. We actually went directly to the ice cream, as we didn't know there were tickets, so we were eating ours before the line formed. Ran into a certain BGSU hockey fan, and learned he also has a 4 year old son named Ben. Good chuckle out of that. The only down side was the lack of food, beyond the tents outside of the stadium. I'd be interested in seeing the event an hour or so later, under the lights. The sun was a bit blinding.
