And not to hijack my own thread but Spencer has a flag football scrimmage at almost the same time. His scrimmage is on the High School practice field. I might have to stand at the top of the home bleachers and watch both games.

Junior High Football
This afternoon Oak Harbor Junior high has its first game of the season against the Genoa Comets at Rocket Stadium. Logan is starting linebacker and second string halfback. Hopefully Mrs. Oaklane can get more of her outstanding pics for our scrapbook. Can not wait for football season to start.

Just try and resist the urge to run onto the field to offer the boys some cold, refreshing H20.
Good luck to both boys tonight.

Re: Junior High Football
Thanks Tech.
Had a great time tonight.
Spencer's scrimmage went well, he is still working out at quarterback.
Passing the ball,

Handing off

Logan's team kicked ass. You will see the final score in the last photo.
Logan caught two passes out of the backfield, both for touchdowns. The first time was from about the five, second touchdown was over 60 yards on a second and long.

He ran the ball a couple times also. Got about 2 yards on this run.

Add in one stop on second down.

Final score versus Genoa Comets Seventh Grade.

Cool. Thanks for sharing. Good luck during the season.
I did notice the kid wearing a Steelers shirt working the yard markers. Smart kids in your town.

Wow, 52-0 is really hard to do in jr hi with 8 min quarters. But by the looks of some of those kids (#57), maybe they are really seventh graders!
Congrats oaklane.

#57 is the most mild mannered kid on the team, he may be a rock out there but he really doesn't push anybody around.Warthog wrote:Wow, 52-0 is really hard to do in jr hi with 8 min quarters. But by the looks of some of those kids (#57), maybe they are really seventh graders!

Love to see the Rockets win big. Two touches for 2 TDs? Wow. Maybe the UT Rockets should start the recruiting process early!

Thanks but I don't think Logan has the "grades" for UT. Plus he has no inclination to gamble yet.h2oville rocket wrote:Love to see the Rockets win big. Two touches for 2 TDs? Wow. Maybe the UT Rockets should start the recruiting process early!

Sorry to hear about the grades thing, but hey, he's young. It could improve.oaklane2 wrote:Thanks but I don't think Logan has the "grades" for UT.
