ESPN3 and Time Warner is still calling you guys liars.

Post by Lord_Byron »

I just got off another on-line chat with TWC to see when I would be able to get access to ESPN3, here's a copy of my chat. You'll see that they still say you guys have never watched any games on it.

When will I have access to ESPN3 videos? I was told in chat right after the agreement with Disney was reached, that it would be available in a couple of days. I just checked and it's still not available. I have spoken to other Roadrunner customers in Ohio, and they have had access for a while.

ESPN3 streaming video, correct

Thank you for the confirmation.

Diana(Thu Sep 16 2010 18:33:56 GMT-0400 (Eastern Daylight Time))>
Lord Byron, I am sorry. There still have some settings to be finalized that is the reason you are unable to access ESPN.

Lord Byron_(Thu Sep 16 2010 18:34:17 GMT-0400 (Eastern Daylight Time))>
Why can other customers access it?

Diana(Thu Sep 16 2010 18:35:19 GMT-0400 (Eastern Daylight Time))>

Lord Byron_(Thu Sep 16 2010 18:36:11 GMT-0400 (Eastern Daylight Time))>
You are mistaken. I know for a fact that my friends in NW Ohio watched games on it. This is the same answer I got last time and I'm not satisfied.

Diana(Thu Sep 16 2010 18:36:30 GMT-0400 (Eastern Daylight Time))>
I understand what you’re going through and apologize for this inconvenience.

Lord Byron_(Thu Sep 16 2010 18:37:02 GMT-0400 (Eastern Daylight Time))>
There is a game I want to watch on Saturday. What is TWC going to do to compensate me for the inconvenience?

Diana(Thu Sep 16 2010 18:37:32 GMT-0400 (Eastern Daylight Time))>
Lord Byron, we have been informed that it is not available anywhere yet.

Diana(Thu Sep 16 2010 18:37:57 GMT-0400 (Eastern Daylight Time))>

When will it be available? and I don't believe you.

Diana(Thu Sep 16 2010 18:38:59 GMT-0400 (Eastern Daylight Time))>
Beleive me, Lord Byron, it is not available anywhere.

Diana(Thu Sep 16 2010 18:39:28 GMT-0400 (Eastern Daylight Time))>
It will bee soon available everywhere.

Lord Byron_(Thu Sep 16 2010 18:39:52 GMT-0400 (Eastern Daylight Time))>

Diana(Thu Sep 16 2010 18:41:00 GMT-0400 (Eastern Daylight Time))>
I am sorry but there is no time frame available, however we have been informed that it will be soon available. May be with this very month.

Lord Byron_(Thu Sep 16 2010 18:41:42 GMT-0400 (Eastern Daylight Time))>
I have no faith in that. It's been a month and I know that some customers are already receiving it.

Diana(Thu Sep 16 2010 18:41:54 GMT-0400 (Eastern Daylight Time))>
I understand how important it is for you to access ESPN.

Lord Byron_(Thu Sep 16 2010 18:42:14 GMT-0400 (Eastern Daylight Time))>
Where's my ticket number or did you lie about that too?

Diana(Thu Sep 16 2010 18:42:33 GMT-0400 (Eastern Daylight Time))>
Hold on please.

I have had nearly that exact conversation on the phone with TWC customer service. I think they are just stalling so they can save paying espn for a month or so.

The thing is it isn't 100% accurate. I watched the Troy game on ESPN3 about 3 miles north of BG. I just tried it again and had no problems watching the games on there right now.

I don't know what the deal is, but it's been working fine for me since the day they announced the agreement.

I watched the Boise/VT game on ESPN3, as well as the Michigan/Uconn game and I live on Thirstin and Reed St. Literally across the street from campus. Obviously use Time Warner as well.

Though, recently I've been watching on Channelsurfing.net instead. Better streams... (All the Seahawk games are from SkyTV in England... Awesome? I think so.)

Well, apparently at 5:22 am, the only thing on ESPN3 is aussie rules football, but I had no problem accessing it.

Maybe they just started to link up the ip addresses. I also know that there is talk that only TV customers will be able to access the content, and not Internet only customers. This way people don't try to cut the cable.

My parents live in BG and they have Digital Cable, highest package possible, Digital Phone, and the fastest internet service option and still cannot access ESPN3. But since this game is on ESPN Gameplan it is possible it will be on channelsurfing.net as well

I paid $5.95 to watch the BG/Troy game on the Troy U feed...it was pretty good quality. I wouldn't deal with Time Warner Cable if it were the last outlet on earth. That company blows chunks.

I can't stand them either, but where I live it's either them or dialup, and I'm not using dialup.

I have my TV through DirecTV.

Which brings up another thing a poster a couple spots above mentioned. I am a TWC internet only customer, and ESPN3.com has been working for me.

Understandable, hammb. How do you like DirecTV?

I haven't needed their service much, so I don't know if it's actually any better than Time Warner...I'm guessing it's probably not.

The price is more than I used to pay for TWC as well.

However, the picture quality is outstanding, I love that I can get the Tigers, and also get the NFL Network. For BG they're the only option if you want to watch Tigers games. All in all, I'm happy with it.
