Seriously though every freaking year by week 4 people are hoping we just keep losing though to improve draft position. Where does it ever get them? I am not sure why I bother paying attention to them honestly. They continue to start backup/washup QBs in a league that demands exceptional QB play.

Well if the team would ever listen to me and actually lose those games it'd get 'em somewhere. If the idiots didn't win 4 meaningless games at the end of last season they'd have Sam Bradford (and likely no Mangini). They'd be light year's closer to actually competing.

As is every year they win a couple games they shouldn't and finish with 4-6 wins, it seems. They always end up just missing out on the truly elite talent.

Of course that probably doesn't matter anyhow, because they haven't done a damn thing with the players they do draft either. The team has been a disaster from the top on down for 90% of the time since the return. I don't know why I still pay attention either, but I can pretty well guarantee I'll never stop. LOL

I think you'll get your wish this year. They lost 2 close games against crappy teams, and their schedule is ridiculous for a while.

Tell me which of the next 7 games they'll be less than a TD underdog?

Baltimore
Cinci
Atlanta
Pittsburgh (w/ Ben)
New Orleans
New England
New York Jets

0-9 is a distinct possibility, and smart Browns fans will be rooting for it.

Big win by Cinci over the Ravens today. I'll still don't understand why people think Joe Flacco is a good QB. He's never impressed me, and he looks like crap this year with a seriously upgraded receiving corps, a good OL, and a stud RB. Of course, I also don't understand why people still think Palmer is good. He hasn't done anything of note for years, and is a pretty accomplished choker.

The Steeler D is nasty and pretty healthy. If they stay healthy, this team could be scary once Ben comes back. James Harrison is possible the angriest man on the planet - what he did to Vince Young today was just plain mean. Timmons has also taken the expected leap this year now that his brain has caught up with his considerable talent.

Chris Johnson - 16 carries for 34 yards, and by the second half he was looking for a soft place to lay down. He didn't want to get hit by Harrison and Timmons any more. Absolutely sick performance by that D. The O was sick in a different way - hopefully Leftwich is ready to go for Tampa.

This just possibly could be the year the Browns end up with the top pick in the draft.

Which pretty much guarantees a labor action and the draft becomes irrelevant.

I agree with the Mangini part but there is no guarantee they would have taken Bradford given the history of Browns drafting since 1999. They probably would have traded down and took Tebow or something irrational  I tend to thing the better their draft position the worse they pick. I guess I have no faith in anything they ever do lol

I actually haven't seen them play this year because I work on Sundays but I would be inclined to bet that their 2010 draftees have been a bunch of duds like always.

The Lions come oh so close again...recovering an onside kick with 1:48 left and trailing by three. They proceed to throw 4 incomplete passes and go down yet again 35-32.

Jahvid Best looks to be the offensive ROY thus far though... :-)

Best was my pick for ROY going into the season. He's a fantastic player that only made it where he did in the draft because of that concussion last year. He had better draft credentials than Spiller, really. I was REALLY hoping that he made it to the Browns 2nd round pick. Of course they wouldn't take him because Mangini doesn't like playmakers with speed, but damn is he a good player.

Actually, I think the Lions got the ROY on both sides of the ball this year, but it will be tough for Suh to win it from the DT position. He is an instant impact player though. Great draft by the Lions. If Stafford gets healthy (and devleops) that team is on the right track.

Given Holmgren's professed love for Bradford, and the lengths they went to in order to acquire that #1 pick (from all accounts they were desperately trying to trade up), I'm pretty convinced they would have taken Bradford if they had the opportunity. Unfortunately, Mangini fucked the Browns in more ways than one last season.

Edited to add: Actually this year's draft has had some players, but they're not at impact positions. Haden is playing alright, but he's the nickelback. TJ Ward has played pretty well, but he's a hard hitting safety...not an Ed Reed type. The problem, as always, has been the complete and total lack of playmaking ability. NONE of the WRs can consistently get open, the QBs can't make things happen or thread the needle, and the RBs aren't playmakers either. Defensively there are no players that can force the sacks & turnovers that can turn a ball game in your favor.

Oh yeah, I'm with ya man. I could MAYBE see them pulling out an upset against Cincy, Atlanta, or the Jets. Maybe even the Steelers if Ben is rusty. But any of those wins they could pull (and I expect 0-9 completely) would be a lucky fluke by a team taking them too lightly.

I am one of the more pessimistic Browns fans on this season. I didn't see where this team had really improved, much, and thought that 4-5 wins was probably about right. But even I expected at least one, if not two, wins in the first couple weeks. The problem is that Mangini raped this roster of any talent it had, so that most weeks in the NFL season the Browns are going to be completely outclassed talent wise. And now they just lost 2 games to 2 teams that actually don't have them completely out-talented.

This season is gonna get real ugly real quick. I honestly don't see how they're better than 2-7 after those next 7 games, and that is if they pull 2 miracle wins that they have no business winning. 0-9 is a VERY distinct possibility, and pretty much what I expect at this point. I know I'll be going into each of these 7 games expecting them to get killed.

LMAO...oh yeah.

Best was the one guy I wanted to come away with in the draft. I thought I was going to overdraft him where I had him slotted, but was comfortable with that given how productive I thought he'd be. Kudos to you, you were willing to take him 3 picks higher than I was. I was STUNNED, to say the least, but I think it's gonna work out for you. I really think the kid is a top 10 back now, possibly top 5, in our PPR format.
