Things to know about Michigan Stadium this weekend...

Post by Metz »

If you are going to the game, there are some new rules there this year that I figured I'd let you know so you didn't have to walk back to your cars.

There are absolutely no bags allowed into the stadium anymore. This includes purses. If you have an infant and need to bring diapers, that is allowed but bringing them in a clear bigger zip-lock will get you through the gates faster. You can also bring seat cushions with the chair back on them that zip up, but if they have an extra zipper pocket on them, it won't be allowed in.

Also, you can't take your own water bottles (or any other beverages or food items) in. And another big thing, if someone tears your ticket in half at the gate, make sure you don't lose the bigger half of the ticket. You can't get into a section without it.

Other than that, gates open 2 hours before the game unless there is lightning within 6 miles of the stadium. Get in early and take a walk around. The $227 million worth of renovations are pretty impressive. If you're on the upper concourse of the East side, you are actually level with the lower concourse of the West side. When you enter the stadium bowl, you'll actually be at row 73, so be prepared for a climb!!

Thanks for the heads up, Metz.

What are concessions and stuff like? I think we're in section 8 (don't have the tickets in front of me) row 91.

In other words the best seat is on my own couch with a delicious Captain Morgan and Coke. I've been to enough Michigan games to know that I've had enough of going to Michigan games. Ticket prices, traffic, parking prices, rules, and worst of all surrounded by some of the worst college football fans of all time for an entire Saturday afternoon, no thanks. GO BG!!!!

The concessions and restrooms have improved. They've got Spot's stands right behind you in the south concourse, along with regular concession stands. They replaced the troughs in the men's room (boo!), but the new restrooms are much cleaner. The traffic flow is still an issue. Expect long lines to get out of the seating bowl at halftime, since the aisles are narrow and it all backs up. Like Metz said, you enter the seating bowl at around row 75, so you'll be going down to exit your section.

Have a great time- Go BG!

I had to bust out laughing at this. I was there in 2000...yeah it was cool to see BG play in the BiG House but we paid a crap load to park on a golf course a mile away and sit sideways in our seats. Plus, we spent all our money in Jamaica a couple weeks ago. LOL. And, saving the $$$ not going to UM saves jack in the travel coffers for Ohio U, tsun and possibly CMU. A Captain and Coke sounds simply scrumptious right now. :drinkers:

I will be glued to the TV in the Falcon Nest watching the BG upset and then driving to the Doyt to welcome the team back. :-D

For those going, have a good time and you'll make more noise than the 100,000+ in maize and blue. How can a crowd that BiG be so quiet? Bring home the W!!

Concessions are overpriced. They got rid of Gladieux this year and went to another company who has a bigger variety to offer, but it's a Big Tenleventwelve stadium...everything is ridiculous price wise.

Meh, I saw worse prices other places. Hotdogs were $4, Drinks as well... I've paid twice that at Pro stadiums.

The golf course parking was pretty rediculous, it's pretty close to the stadium, only a a minute or so of a walk away, but for $30....

And again, all the fans we met were amazing. They welcomed us at the tailgate, and in our section (44, row 32) they were all really kind, and actually they defended us and our team when some Wal-Mart Wolverine tried talking S&*t to us.
6500 miles couldn't stop me from cheering on my Falcons!
