GREAT effort by Hopgood to find the endzone.

Nice to see we're not going to lay down and die. I just wish our defense could actually tackle. I just have no confidence in our ability to get any stops to even try to fight back into it. I'd seriously consider an onsides kick here if I was Clawson.

Why in God's name to we EVER hand off up the middle to a guy who's 5'7" and a buck 70? My 7 year old has almost as good a chance of busting through the Michigan D line!

IF you can block small RBs can have success between the tackles. They can hit creases that bigger backs cannot.

Unfortunately, our injury depleted OL has not been able to block well enough for that to work. At this point in the season I'm not sure why we're still trying it...we've had very little success power running.

I'm just glad that we aren't the ones getting injured in this game.

This defense cannot play with a Big 10 team.

We were never known for defense, but back in '01-'03 we could at least hang with Big 10 teams on defense. This unit just doesn't have the athletes.

Well, IMO, the good news is we've seen how lousy the rest of the MAC is - 1-3 OOC isn't great by any means, but at the end of the season, if we go 7-1 MAC, we've got a chance at the championship game. Kinda unfortunate we don't play EMU this year though

Ugh.

I just don't want to hear from anybody that UM was so great and we couldn't hope to do any better than this against them. I'm sure we'll read a bunch of that in the next few days, but I just don't wanna read it. This was a game that we were not going to win, not with our injury issues on offense, but this defensive effort is just pathetic.

The inability to even TRY to wrap up tackle has been an issue all year long and it made us look silly today. Then we pretty well laid down in this final quarter as well.

I know Michigan is good, but there is no excuse for giving up 700+ yards of offense. Especially when they lost their heisman candidate early on. I realize that we aren't real athletic on defense, but have some pride and show some fundamentals. That isn't asking that much.

Don't like it?

I've never understood this whining about stuff like that.
