Apparently, and it was mentioned early on, scUM and it's Big10 program don't have a place kicker. Granted, the FG that could've been kicked there was about the distance of an extra point. Bullshit call to go for it. Should have kicked. scUM, they truly are.

I hate to say it, but with the hot seat he has been on, I really can't blame him
maybe, but with the field goal you'd still be winning by 40.... come on.

That's all that matters. Our defense better get it's s**t figured out SOON if we're going to accomplish the real goals of this season.

that's the second interesting play we've come up with the ball today... first being the bounce into Geter's hands.

It's pretty classy to run the score up by going for it on 4th and 3 with a few minutes left in the game, while you are already up by 30 some points. Rodriguez sucks.

We haven't played fundamental defense since 2002 maybe 2003. We use to at least have some good athletes playing bad fundamental defense. Now it is nonathletic players playing bad defense.

Don't like it?

STOP THEM.

I've never understood this whining about stuff like that.
Exactly. If a team's not taking shots downfield, you can't really bitch about the fact that their third string QB ran it in on you. What's the difference between 61-21 and 65-21? Other than showing who the crybabies are.

Nice to see we're not going to lay down and die. I just wish our defense could actually tackle. I just have no confidence in our ability to get any stops to even try to fight back into it. I'd seriously consider an onsides kick here if I was Clawson.

I am so tired of hearing we do not tackle  . Sure we miss a few wrap ups. The problem is that our front CANNOT get off blocks and by the time someone does get to the runner they are in space and can make a move. We do not have the size or speed up front to compete- has Llttle to do with being able to tackle - That is just the way it is with superior speed and runners in space. If you dont win up front tackling does not matter as you just keep moving the chains with huge gains. We need better front seven play and need to recruit as such....

I'm not going to argue that our front 7 play is weak. It is, and has been since at least '02. However, there were a number of times that our front 7 did a good job of stringing plays out only to have the first defender fail to even attempt at wrapping up.

The bottom line is our defense was atrocious all around today. We don't have a lot of talent on that side of the ball, and I still think that is compounded by our woeful tackling. If a guy makes a great move and you whiff that's one thing, but far too often we get clean shots at guys and don't wrap up. That is what I'm talking about.

Going have to disagree with you. Missing a few wraps ups is an understatement. Our tackling is awful and it cost us a win against Troy. We had their star player for loss in the backfield several times only for him to get away and get first downs. One of them ended up being a 60 yard touchdown.

We had defenders in a position to make plays...we didn't make plays.

Football etiquette says you DO NOT kick a FG when you are winning big...3pts are meaningless and a sign that you are just looking to tack on points. You run the ball for four downs...if we can't stop you when we know you're going to run, that's on us.
What RichRod did today is what we did when we rolled up 70 on Temple in 2004. They ran a vanilla run offense that we just weren't god enough to stop.

What Tulsa did in the GMAC bowl was different...they were throwing deep routes and blitzing on defense when they were up by 30 in the second half. Football etiquette says you do not do that
It's not the fall that hurts...it's when you hit the ground.
