That is GREAT news! Hopefully we'll have Schilz back too
Re: Fan-fricking-tastic news!!!!
Excellent news! I hope to see them both out there, healthy, against Buffalo this week! Hopefully Lewis will be back soon too.

Re: Fan-fricking-tastic news!!!!
Remembering how we never let PJ Pope ever fully heal, can't we handle Buffalo without them both so they can get even more healthy for the following games?
Especially since that is our biggest and most important stretch of the season with games at Ohio and at Temple?
Just asking...

I like your way of thinking RWT...We SHOULD be able to beat Buffalo without them but knowing that they are probably competitors of the highest degree, they are going to want to get back on the field as soon as possible. That being said, the coaching staff should monitor these guys closely to see if they are really ready and 100% healthy.

Re: Fan-fricking-tastic news!!!!
Tom, at the beginning of the season, I would have agreed with this. But now I'm thinking that the later stretch against Miami and Toledo is going to be far more decisive. Arguably, Temple is still the best team in the division, but they aren't the same without Bernard Pierce, if he's still out on the 16th our road becomes much easier. Ohio has been horrible so far, I no longer expect them to be a threat for the East division crown. They don't have the offense, namely the passing offense, to challenge for the MAC crown.Redwingtom wrote:Especially since that is our biggest and most important stretch of the season with games at Ohio and at Temple?.
Miami on the other hand, looks very legitimate. They didn't play well last week, but their defense looks fairly stout, and their offense is a LOT better than it has been in recent years when they were the laughingstock of I-A football. Toledo, while they aren't in our division, looks like they could be a very tough out as well. They didn't play well at all on opening night, but since then they've ripped off three straight, including one against Purdue. So November is going to be just as critical, if not moreso, than October.

Re: Fan-fricking-tastic news!!!!
While that all is well and good, if we don't win both these games, we have little to no shot at the East crown no matter what we do versus Miami and Toledo. That's what makes them more important...although if we don't beat Buffalo too we are in trouble so......
But having Buffalo at home should afford us with a better chance with a backup QB.

Re: Fan-fricking-tastic news!!!!
Last time at home vs Buffalo we had a 27-7 lead in the 4th quarter....and lost! The last two games at Perry Stadium against Buffalo have gone into triple and double overtime. We can't overlook or just breeze past anyone. The last two years, which the exception of Boise State and Michigan, the games have been a grind. We are too young and not good enough to look past or hold back from anyone.Redwingtom wrote:But having Buffalo at home should afford us with a better chance with a backup QB.
