I liked seeing intensity and passion back on the sidelines yesterday. If these kids play their guts out every week, good things will eventually happen. Flip nailed it dead on.

Let's start by blasting the Flash out of Kent Saturday...BG needs a win badly and if we play like we did yesterday, we will win. The D looked very good, for the most part, and the O moved the ball on a pretty good Temple D.

Clawson's challenge will be to keep the teem focused and enthusiastic - keep the passion flowing. That, and beating Toledo are the two main goals, IMO.

And I don't agree that Clawson should need 3 or 4 years to build this program into a contender. I think he'll do it sooner than that.

We give up big plays because we're inexperienced...guys bite on fakes, forget their assignment or make some other mistake and 80 yards later you're lining up for the other guy's PAT. We had the same problem in 2006...that last time we sucked. Brandon had too much attrition in 2005 and 2007's recruiting classes to build the depth needed to rise above mediocrity in the years that followed 2006. I think CLawson is smart enough to avoid the boderline or sketchy kids that kill depth when they blow out or wind up in jail after a year, but we'll see about that.

The biggest challenge with a team like our is to keep them battling week in and out. Losing becomes a problem when it becomes anticipated or accepted. It's hard to improve when you think you're part of a lost cause. We had 60 minutes of good effort against a better team after we'd been blown out twice and suffered a loss at home on a missed FG...that's a plus.

If they continue to play hard...we can win a few yet this year. This conference is a terrible football conference. And by terrible I mean really...really bad. :-)
We only dressed 55? We were down 30 scholarships?

Add Miami to the list of goals.
