What the heck did Siggy dos do?

Post by Bleeding Orange »

Great win tonight! We really were getting a lot of shots on net, and for once we were ALMOST not outshot! That's a step in the right direction for sure. I love the pace these guys are playing with now.

I am wondering, though, what the heck did Sigalet do to get a game misconduct? I couldn't see because I was down in the student section. We're gonna miss him tommorow. Please help!

Oh yeah, after tonight I am convinced that Jordan is magic. I have no doubt that he will go pro, and quick!

I'll clear a few things up. It was just a 10 minute misconduct. He left the ice because there was like 7 minutes left.

I think he "snowed" the goal tender.

yes he did snow or ice the goalie after the play. It is a week 10 min but oh well he could have stopped and me being a goalie i always hated that. anyway he should be back tomorrow night ready to go.

Not a Game DQ, Just a 10 minute.

Post by Falcon Fanatic »

Jonathon Sigalet got a 10 minute misconduct, not a game DQ. He will be on the ice tomorrow. They sent him off the ice because there was less than 10 minutes left in the game. He got the 10 minute for spraying the goalie with ice. Of course Shegos didn't call that when the UAF guy did nearly the same thing to Siggy in net about 2 minutes later. Doesn't matter...AWESOME WIN!!! NOW FINISH IT WITH A SWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP!!!!

GO FALCONS!!
SWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP 'EM!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

I believe that that we DID out shoot them....something like 39 - 33, if I remember correctly.

What a weak 10 minute misconduct. Come on.... snow showers are almost expected as a goalie. Then again look at the ref in question.

The only time I heard the ref's name on air last night was when they called the 10 minute on Little Siggy. When I heard them say Shegos, I thought, "Now that doesn't surprise me!!"

You would think Little Siggy would have more consideration for goalies since his big brother is one :D

A specific incident from my childhood comes to mind when I read that... Something about me spraying my brother in the face because he was the goalie. Haha...

Misting the goalie is one of those violations of the player's code of conduct that will often result in fisticuffs...especially in a game where the score is lopsided. If this had happened in the ECHL or in Juniors, both benches would have been cleared within a matter of seconds. The 10 minute misconduct on this call is intended (as much as anything else) to protect the 'sprayer' from retaliation.

And the winner for "Most Dramatic Description of Something Unlikely to Happen" is....

Yes, its an "unwritten rule" not to snow the goalie, and probably moreso when you're winning big, but "cleared in a matter of seconds"?? :?

The rest of your post was pretty right-on, but that struck me as a bit melodramatic.

The funny thing is when I asked him if he did it on purpose, he smiled and said "Well, I had to stop somewhere!'
