Doan has been this type of player his whole career. Not surprising really.

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

Now last night Sexton took a puck to the face during the Detroit game. He left the ice bleeding and didn't return. I haven't seen any further updates, hopefully he's doing alright though.

Dan has a broken nose, he flew back to Anaheim for more evaluations on his facial injuries. He has a lot of swelling and it'll be a couple days before its known for sure what the extent of his injuries are. He obviously will not be playing tomorrow in Dallas.

It's been a rough week for Sexton. He got really lucky there wasn't serious injuries on Doan's dirty hit. And he was somewhat lucky the puck hit him on the nose, painful but the nose is probably better than the mouth and even worse ears can lead to hearing loss and or if it goes under the visor- eyes, blindness.

Injuries like this are why the NCAA exploring the possibility of allowing visors over cages is stupid.
