Future Falcon Named to NHL "Players to Watch" List

Post by BGDrew »

Kyle Sucher, an NAHL defenseman who is currently playing for the Amarillo Bulls, was named in the NHL Central Scouting Service’s “Player to Watch” list. Sucher has verbally committed to join the Falcon’s in 2011 and received a “C” rating. “A” ratings indicate a player likely to be drafted in the first or second round, “B” players are projected at third to fifth round, and “C” players were projected to be late round picks.

If Sucher were to be drafted he would join forward Jordan Samuels-Thomas (Atlanta Thrashers) as the second drafted player for the Falcons in 2011-2012.

I'm actually kind of hoping that Kyle delays for a year or two and gets more experience at the junior level before coming to school. This is his first year of junior A and its in the NAHL not the slightly higher USHL. Add to that the facts that we only have 1 D-man graduating in the next two years and two others also recruited for next year and you have to wonder just how much ice time he would get.
I love people who can laugh at themselves. It saves me the effort.

I dont believe we will see Kyle hit the ice for the falcons until 2012 he will likely be drafted and move on to a USHL team next season and if not he will in likely hood be the top rated D man in the NAHL. I honestly see him playing next year for Cedar Rapids or the ice.
The best news is if he comes to BG next year the Coaches feel he is ready and want him at that point and if thats the case what reason do we have to not trust their judgement, I would love to see BG pursue and gobble up some of the uber fast super skilled 18 year olds that Hockey east always seems take, Jerry and Mike's formula for speed works very very well.

I wonder if he has the skill to run a power play unit? The team has lacked a Defenseman with that kind of skill since Jon Sigalet was here. He wasn't a great PP guy because his shot wasn't real strong, but he could move the puck a little.

I think Bailen was ready to step into that role before the turmoil drove him out of the program.

I agree, Bailen was showing signs of being a powerplay asset before he left. He had some patience with the puck and a good shot.

Bailen has 1 goal and 3 assists in 4 games at RPI so far, and his goal was a power play goal.
