I am wondering how it takes you 5 hours to drive from Indianapolis to BG?

Here's my observations from the game:
1. Schilz had a rough game. He's young and that definitely showed today. There were several plays with receivers open on the left side that he missed, but that will come with experience. I don't know if he was at 100% today, but he seemed really timid to run the ball like he was afraid he would get hurt. It's an understandable fear, but you're playing football so you can't be afraid to take a hit.

2. Is Willie still hurt? I didn't see him play much, and he looked extremely unhappy on the sidelines since he wasn't in.

3. Defense seemed rather flat. Normally they seem energized, but they just seemed tired.

4. The fans were really quiet today, even from the start of the game. We had a nice crowd complete with a fly-over, but I felt like I was one of the few people cheering, especially in the student section. I understand that it's family weekend, but if you're a parent and you a) don't care about the game or b) are not going to cheer, go sit in a higher section so those more serious fans can be loud together. I know the team's record is really sad, but if we can't create a home field advantage, then we aren't doing our part of the job. Also, playing "Jump Around" at the start of the 4th is not catching on. It might have been due to the score, but I think we need to get something and make it our own rather than ripping off other schools. Speaking of which, what was up with the bells on 3rd down? Isn't that what Temple did last week? I am not a fan and it personally made me not want to cheer because it was so annoying. I'll take Miley Cyrus any day over that.

I hope the trip to CMU goes well and no one gets hurt. Then I'm hoping in the 10 days off, Clawson can get some improvement in the boys and get them pumped for the Miami game on TV to give us a good show. Get some confidence and a win before Toledo. The team is young, but I think Clawson will be able to get them where they need to be next year.
GO FALCONS!!

Apparently you never stopped for White Castle, then had to stop to evacuate the White Castle, and stop again to evacuate the White Castle, and stop again... well you get the point.

Oh no, the dreaded logistics police. Last time I checked, it's 220 miles from BG to the Northwest part of the Circle. Before 24 was finished I still could do that in just under 4 hours in no traffic with no stops and driving the legal speed. Now, if I lived near the airport and there was construction anywhere nearby, I'm guessing it would be between 4:30 and 5:00 transit time. About 5 hours.

A couple of Saturdays ago, I went from BG to US 23 and I-96 in Michigan. 90 miles, about 2 hours at noon and the MSU-Michigan didn't start until 3:30 :-)

It's was going to be a challenging year and WE ALL KNEW THAT. It's worse than some hoped, true, but it's only Clawson's second year with a extremely young team.

Should they be improving? Yes, but I'm not ready to trot the coaching staff off to the gallows. It's tough to get a young team "up" when they've had their heads handed to them as much as they have this year.

It'll be okay with time.

I still love my school and I will back my fellow alumni and current students regardless.

ROLL ALONG!

+1...yeah it's tough to watch but I'll always be back.

Ive been to all but two games this year and every game besides the Marshall game I have thought about not coming back for the season......but a half a second later I realize I just cant do it. I have to be there no matter if we win or lose. I love the falcons to much to do that. They always will have my support!

Those who say they're not coming back will be back when the team is good, it's the cycle of sports fandom, especially at the MAC level. Hell, I haven't seen many Browns fans around since like Week 2 at the bars watching their games. Some of it is frustration, and some of it is that people root for BGSU when it's convenient for them.

And for my two cents, I have also thought about not coming back especially with these Saturday 3:30 games. I have to be at work by 4-4:15 so it would be completely convenient to not come, but I am in that stadium at 3:00pm and there as long as possible. I love this school and no matter how bad we're doing, I'll root for us and defend our name time and time again.

Call it cheesy, but I always think of two lines of two school songs:

Fight song: "Hold up the fame of our mighty name."
Alma Mater: "Make us worthy sons and daughters adding to thy fame."

I refuse to be a fair-weather fan because that means I am not being a "worthy son" of our beloved school. We all get frustrated and I'm sure the players and coaches are frustrated too, but they're there every week still fighting for our school. The least we can do is be loyal and give them our support week after week.
