Oh ... I'm stressed!!!!
Lol. Well, I'm not stressing. Instead, I'm heading to the casino. Anyone wanna get in on some inside info I have on a college football game coming up on November 9th?
factman wrote:yep RF.......some of us know a helluva lot more about things than you may know. Unbelievable isn't it! A lot of us have known "Buckeye" Tim for ten years or more, and some of us have even gotten to know Coach Clawson in his couple of years in BG. Not saying Beckman hasn't done a decent job in cleaning up the mess he inherited, but you might want to make sure he doesn't have a "big spill" on the way out the door, for someone else to mop up. His character shows with he and his staff and their "negative" recruiting methods. It loses credibility with many HS players and coaches in the long run. After he gets done pating himself on the back, there is not a lot of substance left. Carry on!
Please explain these "negative" recruiting methods he and his staff are using. You shouldn't make those kind of accusations without backing it up with some sort of evidence.
As for what the future holds....who knows for both coaches. When you're in the MAC, you're coach either moves on because of how successful he was, or he gets let go/resigns with a program in a sad state because eventually he lost momentum. That's the nature of the beast. Neither Clawson nor Beckman will be at BG and UT forever. Both will likely have ups and downs. That's life. There's no sense stressing yourself out over what might happen.
Easy for you to say- you don't know a helluva lot like some people!
Yes, Tyler Sheehan. Sorry that I couldn't remember. It was late and I was pretty tired when I posted and just couldn't remember his name.
While were on the subject, there was a QB that picked BG over a few offers last year.....one being Toledo. I wanna say his name was Watkins or something like that. How is he doing? I am guessing that he is redshirting this year? It seems that he was planning on going to BG in the spring to try to compete for the job, but I don't know if he ever made it in the spring or waited until the summer.
factman wrote:Definitely redshirting and probably changing position in the future.
Interesting. To wide receiver or linebacker? If I remember correctly he has pretty good size for a QB, about 6-3 or 6-4, and had 4.5 to 4.6 speed. He was considered one of the Top 7 or 8 QB prospects in the state of Ohio his senior year. I seem to remember him having a pretty strong arm and good TD/INT ratio during his junior and senior years of high school. I'm really surprised he doesn't look to be making it as a QB.
Maybe it's just because your freshman QB seems to be the QB of the future and Watkins is too athletic to be the #2 or 3 guy.
Actually, Trent Hurley, the other true freshman QB from PA, is probably our #2 right now if he weren't being redshirted also. You are correct about his athletic ability, so Watkins migh even end up as a tailback, or tight end. I'm not sure anyone knows for sure, and if someone got injured, he might remain at QB. He is still running QB in practice, I believe.
