gotta wonder how good he would be if he had ANY sort of self esteem at all. Interesting that he does make small versions- I thought Dayon had hit on something unique there. Hard to imagine something on that scale using lost wax-I'm guessing its doen in sections and welded together. I look forward to seeing it before we deface it.

I think the quote about the Air Force Falcon was pretty priceless...

"Those Air Force guys were real jerks. They stuck a pole up his ass and put him on a bunch of rocks. I won't even put that in my portfolio."

Also, Grant... am I coming in late on Tuesday to stay in BG for the install of the giant bird? I think that's necessary.

Awesome interview, Grant!!! :supz:
"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second."

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

They did, in fact, stick a pole up its ass (OUCH!) and put it on a bunch of rocks.
I agree with the others - I would definitely pick up a smaller version if the bookstore picks it up.

I cannot wait to see this once it's done...was just in BG today, might come back up for the doubleheader at AA on Monday and stay to see the install on Tuesday! Maybe see you there?

Great interview, Grant!

Yeah, I'll try to nail down an exact time that this thing is going to happen and I'll plan on taking the morning off. Give me a call if you're in town and going to stick around for this.

Wonder if he would be available to do a Doyt Perry bronze statue?

I'd love to see Coach Perry right outside of the doors to where the team enters the field, always looking over the team as they play.

I'd also like to see a back-lit Bowling Green Falcons with the falcon head logo above the doors that the team comes out of. . .

Love this, love the feel the Stroh Center has and also the updating and cosmetics that have taken place over the last 3-5 years or so at all the facilities.

I've heard straight from the top that they will. Plans to completely renovate the insides of the "Big 3" and South Hall are in the works.

That's good news to hear. I just hope they keep the outsides as is....I don't want to see these older building look like new ones.

Watching the webcam, it looks like they've got the crane in position and are strapping the bird into it in order to move it into position atop its pedestal.
