BG beats YSU 86-40

Great job girls! Could not listen as I was in Toledo for the other game.

I saw the first half then had to leave. We looked good although we got off to another slow start.
Great effort all around - just a few stats:
Maggie Hennegan - 7/7 FGs, 5 boards (4 offensive)!
Lauren Prochaska - 6/13 FGs, 4-7 3Pts, 8-8 FTs, 10 boards!

All Falcons got playing time and 11 of 15 found the score-sheet! 13 of 15 got at least one rebound! Team was 22-26 on FTs!

Also, YSU's last FG was at 9:48 in the 2nd - nice hold by the defense.

Watching this game was a painful reminder of our 3-year experient with the "let's put it up from anywhere" coaching philosophy. Okay, so this is the guy's first year. If I were a YSU fan, I would find it difficult to embrace that style of coaching. He doesn't have the talent (yeah he may not have talent at all) to keep hoisting up shots from North Lima. When your team misses 23 of 26 3-point attempts, it's time to move closer to the basket :-)

Anyway, nice entertainment, a certain player has a new streak of 11 and her team mate 14!

Most of the crowd just sat there and didn't bother cheering the falcons on! but i sure did and i wasn't the only one either! it seems to me that fans just don't seem to care as much as they used to if the Falcons won! There is no excuse why each game shouldn't be packed or at least almost packed! This is the last year in Anderson Arena! i know that i will be in attendance for all of the girls games!

In this case I don't blame the fans because when you beat one of the worst teams in all of D1, it's hard to get geeked up about it.

Don't worry, once we start facing some real opposition the fans will be loud as ever. Just wait for the Vanderbilt game next week.

I definitely have to agree with this statement. I'm a WBB fanatic and I couldn't really keep much energy going at the game knowing it was one of the worst teams in D1 we were wiping the floor with. But I am really psyched for Vandy!! :D

The band adds a lot to that atmosphere..hopefully, they will be there for the upcoming games. Not saying this to be critical, I am actually commenting on the value they add to the gameday atmosphere.
