OMG
I just went to www.ccha.com to see if scores had been updated, scrolled down to the standings, and to what to my wondering eyes did appear? This:
1. Michigan
2. Ohio State
3. BOWLING GREEN
I almost had a heart attack. Just to see our name in third place is so cool I can't even describe it! I don't know if this will stick as I can't find updated scores and I don't know what has been updated yet (as of now, with 16 points, we are tied for third with Northern M.), but something tells me that this is not the last time our proud name will see third place this season. Perhaps a road sweep next week could take care of that? Hmmm.... 8)

The standings were updated after the UNO/Northern game and BG is now tied with Northern for 4th place. One point behind UNO! Oh how I hate the "card game!"
Great job this weekend guys! 11 seconds from a Siggy shutout and 11 seconds from free nachos for all in attendence!
But I have no complaints! The boys played their rears off and the scoreboard showed it. These were two VERY fun games to watch!
I also wanted to say a quick thank you to section E! I've given them a lot of grief, but tonight they did a great job. I had in attendence all four of my little cousins ranging in age from 9-2 and I didn't have to do much explaining of any questionable language. THANK YOU!
GO FALCONS!
We all need to be rooting for Ferris and Miami next week, as they take on UNO and Northern.
SWEEP THE WILDKITTENS IN TWO WEEKS!

I was in the middle of Section E tonight (I was the one screaming "SIEVE!" at Bertusche throughout the 2nd period!), and I have never, EVER had more fun at a hockey game. Being a student, and a relative new-comer to Falcon hockey, I have never before participated in post-goal chants. That was an unbelievable experience. Not a cuss-word came out of that section tonight, and I have never been prouder of our fans.
I think the key is to get a couple more of the older fans in that section down at the front. They have to get there early to get seats, but I have noticed that the chants tend to move from the bottom up in that section, and it would be nice to get some of the old-timers down there to lead the chants. This year at least, I have noticed that chants tend to move from the bottom-up, and it would be nice to get some "senior leadership" (I mean absolutely no offense!) down front. I'm willing to get there early to home games to help them out, so just let me know! For now KA, I'm just glad that you and your cousins had a good time! Hopefully we can keep that trend going, along with the winning, of course!!!!!
I would also like to add that for all of the ribbing I and others in Section E were giving Bertusche during the second period tonight, I got to let him know that it was all in good fun. As UAF was leaving the ice after the game I walked over to the railing and yelled "Hey Bertusche! Go get Michigan next week! Seriously!" and gave him a thumbs up. Seeing that I was being genuine (he had been jawing at me throughout the second period), he paused, smiled, and said: "Thank you." I was very happy that he was able to realize that there was nothing personal behind the ribbing, as I did start to feel a bit guilty at times. To me, that is exactly what college hockey, and college athletics for that matter, is all about.
God, I love hockey.

It was FREAKIN' AWESOME to hear Section E counting out the goals and saying "GO-GO-GO-GO!!!" after the goals!! I was SOOOOOO excited!!! What a great game and what a fantastic weekend!!!
FALCON HOCKY IS BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second."

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

This team is really coming around and I'm enjoying it for sure! I also just noticed everyone on the board right now besides the guest is in the hockey forum instead of another sport. That right there should say how good this hockey team is getting and how much the fans are taking notice!!!

I'll give section E a little credit. The post goal chant was awesome to hear, but the $ucks stuff was still as prevalent as ever...

With all due respect FCF, lay off. I was proud of Section E last night. That was one of the classiest displays of fan support you will ever see in that arena. If you don't like it, perhaps you are being too picky.

Oh always! Of course we didn't have any around for these past games. "Who's he?! NOBODY!!!"Schadenfreude wrote:Is The BG News still popular when the opposing team is introduced?
