+1

Non-Conf.
Marshall
Miami (FL)
Ohio U.
Eastern Mich

Real powerful bunch. Indiana, Purdue, Minnesota and few others slightly better in the B10. Not a schedule from which I would throw stones.
I proudly chose to be a Falcon and a Falcon I will remain until the end.

Ohio State plays a murderer's row schedule if the definition of murder is expanded to include stepping on dandelions.

Gee, "It's not about this incessant drive to have a national championship because I think that's a slippery slope to professionalism ," he said. "I'm a fan of the bowl system and I think that by and large it's worked very, very well."

The BCS system should have been set up to include league play only between other teams in the BCS (ie., no warm-ups with Youngstown St.). Then, maybe, the computor could pick your top two teams. The current system just doesn't make any sense, and you can't go back in time. So somebody please, come up with a better idea than a play-off system if you have one.

I would think that OSU brings in more money than many professional teams. It's just not distributed to the players in the form of a paycheck. OSU is a professional FB team in Ohio.

I always appreciate Jim Tressel giving BG and other in-state schools a chance to knock 'em off. The Buckeyes have never been concerned with strength of schedule so they give the MAC schools a chance for a big payday and a chance at making history. But I wonder: would the current Falcon team be considered a "Little Sisters of the Poor" or a "Little Brothers of the Poor."

Go BG! Beat WMU!

I agree G. Gee should keep his mouth shut, he's the President of the University not the Athletic Director. That being said Marshall is 4-7 in forth place in their league, Miami (FL) is 7-4 and in second place in their league, Ohio U is 8-3 and one win away from winning the conference while Eastern is 2-9 in last place. Schedule are set several years in advance so I don't discount this schedule. If you are trying to win a National Championship and play in one of the tougher conferences you schedule in this fashion. OSU had a easier conference schedule by not playing Michigan State but it's hard to know which conference teams will be the best year in and year out.

"Well, I don't know enough about the X's and O's of college football,"

And yet this snobby elitist pansy is suddenly an expert on Boise State and TCU? Could he name the conferences they play in or other teams in said conferences? For that matter, could he name all the teams in the BiG Ten? If you yourself say you don't know enough about the X's and O's of college football, then STFU. Coming from a guy who once described a 13-13 tie with Michigan as "One of our greatest wins ever", well. He simply sees the money coming into osu and doesn't want to see that stop.

I'll put Boise State or TCU against osu in Cbus and give the Bucks 10 points. Those schools have EARNED the respect they deserve. As H2O said, make it happen Gee. Do a home and home with Boise or TCU. Until then, shut it.

Another example of this osu arrogance...it makes it so easy to root against them. Go Blue.

Well said Falconfreak! I was in school when the famous tie happen and most of
Columbus was left wondering what was he thinking. I'm still alumni of the school so rooting for Michigan isn't ever going to happen. The OSU arrogance is very real but you generalize all OSU fans when saying that. The vast majority are not that way. Dr. Gee is the CEO of a major corporation called The Ohio State University. That in itself is the problem!

As much a a dislike Gee, I have to agree with his main point...Boise and TCU don't play as tough of schedules that teams in the SEC, Big Ten or Pac 10 do. Just look at the strength of schedule statistics year-end and year-out.

And yes, I know that teams like Ohio State, Florida and Oregon usually schdule one tough non-conference game and three winable others. But they also play a 8-game league schedule with the likes of Michigan State, Iowa, Wisconsin, Penn State, Michigan, Illinois, Alabama, South Carolina, LSU, Georgia, Tennessee, Arkansas, Auburn, USC, UCLA, Washington, Arizona, Stanford, Cal, etc.

TCU played Oregon State and Boise played Oregon State and Viginia Tech. The rest of their schdeules are against teams that hardly give you a championship resume. Utah and Nevada are in the same boat so I don't think those wins mean much either.

Don't get me wrong, you put either TCU or Boise on a neutral field against Ohio State this year and I wouldn't be surprised if they won the game. I just think that an undefeated team from a power conference has a much better argument to play in the championship game than one from the WAC or Mountain West.

If Boise or TCU played in the Big Ten or SEc this year, I don't think they'd be undefeated.

If I am Boise and TCU, I just would keep my mouth shut and enjoy the easy ride of getting to a huge payday and the BCS bid every year. Stay right in the conferences they are in now. Big paydays for the schools and their coaches. It is the easiest way to the BCS games right where they are. No conference championships and no tough conferences and occassionaly (like this year) they have a shot at the national title game.

Right on. Boise's AD has had an open challenge to any team to play them anytime/anywhere. No team should be taken seriously when crying foul over BSU's strength of schedule unless they have taken BSU up on this offer.

As for Ohio State specifically, schedule rank didn't keep THEM out of the BCS title game their last time around. They simply expect everyone to take for granted that their schedule is as tough as it gets every year regardless of who they play.
