Would you mind fleshing in some details?

It was a defensive breakdown and not Siggy's fault. It was a great game. 6-1. 12 goals in 2 nights. Wow!! Last time we swept a team was in the 2002-2003 season.

Tonight's scorers:
Foster from Matsomoto & Pedota
Whitmore from Burd and Unger
Rogo from Geelan and Minnebarriet
Meloche from Dobek and Pilk
(at this point 12 different guys had points)
Meloche from Morrison and Pilk
Whitmore (sorry I didn't get the assists)

Way to go guys. Have a good rest then go get Northern Michigan.

How many details? I just watched it on gametracker, BG was up 6-0 with under a minute left, and I was waiting for the clock to flip to 0:00 and the shutout, but (see FindlayFalcon's post) it wasn't quite meant to be.

Still a great weekend!!!

We were 11 seconds away from the shutout, but the most dissapointing is that we were 11 seconds away from free nachos. Drat.

Fantastic TEAM effort!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Jordan was AWESOME the whole weekend!!!! Believe me, a shutout does not mean as much as a SOLID WIN does to Jordan! The sweep means everything to him and this team!!!! 4 points this weekend was the MOST important thing. This is a TEAM, not an individual star, but A TEAM that wants the best for everyone! It shows in how they played both games this weekend. They were fun to watch and many of us felt like "old time BG Hockey" was back in town!!! FANTASTIC SWEEP FOR THE FALCON ICERS!!!!! We are tied for 4TH PLACE!!!! WOOOO-HOOOOO!!!
"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second."

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

Fanatic,

I know you're infinite times closer to the hockey program than I am, and I know that a win is the most important thing, be it a shutout or a 57-56 win on a garbage goal, but as a TEAM, with the win well in hand, to lose the shutout that late had to be at least a touch disheartening. Especially if it was a defensive lapse that left Jordan hung out to dry. The win is great, I'm not diminishing that, but you'd have to think that with all that Jordan has been through, and more importantly, all the times he's kept them in games where they've given up 40 or 50 shots, they'd love to have that 11 seconds back.

You're right about the them wanting those 11 seconds back, mostly for Jordan, but I was only speaking from what Jordan said after the game and how HE felt about getting a shutout. I personally would have loved to see him get it, too. For him, it's all about the team and winning, no matter how it's done!!

FANTASTIC WEEKEND OF FALCON HOCKEY!!
BG HOCKEY IS FUN AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
