Shaun drills a 48 yarder to put Pittsburgh up 16-13 with 6:20 left.
Re: SHAUN SUISHAM
Shaun kicks a 41-yard GW FG in OT. For his career, he is 3 for 3 in OT FGs

Great day for the Falcon, Shaun Suisham. Watch the post game press conference. Shaun is interviewed after Coach Tomlin. Best quote from Coach..."He's a Steeler now. Guys like Casey Hampton actually know his name now."

No better way to endear yourself to your "new" team. The best thing about the OT winner was no crazy celebration by Shaun. He acted like he had no doubts he was ever going to make it, and just stood there as his teammates (and Tomlin) rushed him.
He definitely is there to stay for the rest of the year. I imagine it would take a brutal playoff miss to put next year in jeopardy for him. He looked awfully good today.

Have you followed the career of NFL kickers before? LOL I'm just sayin'...Jacobs4Heisman wrote:No better way to endear yourself to your "new" team. Let's just say there's a difference between kicking for a perennially terrible and reactionary franchise and kicking for the Steelers. He earned a ton of rope yesterday, and there are only 5 games left.Redwingtom wrote:Have you followed the career of NFL kickers before? Shaun has played the bulk of his NFL career for both Dallas and Washington. Hardly perennially terrible franchises. Trust me, if Shaun develops the yips and loses a game or two, he will be off faster than a prom dress.Jacobs4Heisman wrote:Let's just say there's a difference between kicking for a perennially terrible and reactionary franchise and kicking for the Steelers. Yeah - you're just plain wrong. And Dallas and Washington have been pretty crummy for a pretty long time. Don't equate news headlines with success. They also share a chainsaw-style management system. Couldn't be any further from how they run things in Pittsburgh. Shaun could not ask for a better opportunity to succeed.Redwingtom wrote:Shaun has played the bulk of his NFL career for both Dallas and Washington. Hardly perennially terrible franchises. Re: SHAUN SUISHAM
Agree. The Steelers will not get rid of him. Jones and Snyder are egomaniacs. The 48 yarder into the wind was very impressive. Even more impressive was making 4 - 40 yard plus FGs in a place like Buffalo. He actually made 5 since he had to kick the one before half twice.
Also unlike Reed, he made an attempt at a tackle and got blocked. He didn't look like a 12 yeard girl in his attempt, unlike Skippy.

Re: SHAUN SUISHAM
The writer implied he kicked bad in the Browns mini camp. We all know he was there until Dawson resigned, it had nothing to do with performance.

Tom, I gotta agree with J4H on this one. Jones and Snyder make player decisions based on which way the wind is blowing. The Rooneys may be loyal to a fault. Completely different organizations.
