0-0 End of the first period.

BG 8 shots
LSSU 4 shots

Only one penalty in the period on the Lakers.
"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second."
~~USCHO Poster
"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

After one period it's scoreless. Great defensive period as we held Lake State to only 4 shots.

Online stats say 8-4 shots, but the scoreboard on the video feed shows 7-4 shots.

1-0 end of 2nd
Shots 14-13 this period (BG up on shots)

3rd Period:
LSSU scores. 1-1
13:41 left.

Have to admit the Laker announcers have really given the Falcons a LOT of respect and props in this game. Sometimes you never know what you'll get when watching opposing feeds! :?

GRRRRRRR!!
LSSU wins the shoot out.

1) JST's goes in, LSSU's go in
2) Solway's goes in, but doesn't count (net kicked off), LSSU miss
3) Mohler's miss, LSSU goes in

BG gets one point for the game.

Despite the loss, much more consistent play the whole game.
Eno had a really good game.
We out shot them 37-27.

And it was nice to hear the LSSU announcers say a LOT of really good things about the team, especially Eno (and JST, who really didn't stand out tonight). Makes it a much nicer game to listen to.

GO FALCONS!!!
SINK THE LAKERS!!!

So the net was kicked off, presumably by the goalie, but it counts as no goal for BG? WTF?

I think I found a new strategy to win every shootout ever.

My thoughts exactly. Guess it wouldn't be a shootout without controversy. Personally, I really wish they would just go away and let the game end in a tie (and that's not just because we lost.) I've always been against them and that will never change.

A good thing about last night's shootout, JST's shot went so easily and looked completely effortless! Nice to see after he muffed up the penalty shot up at Northern! At Northern, it looked like he was trying to be too fancy and lost control of the puck so he never got the shot off, but last night's shot looked like he had done it hundreds of times. Obviously he's practiced that quit a few times after the Northern series! :-D
