Not sure if anybody is a Sam Hornish fan, but I think it's pretty cool. Also, the cheaper tickets is an awesome deal.Sunday, Dec. 12 - Men's Basketball vs. Florida International at 2 p.m. Sunday will be Sam Hornish Day in honor of the Defiance, Ohio, native. Sam will sign autographs for 30 minutes before the game and the 2006 Indianapolis 500 Trophy will be on display.
Sunday is also Faculty and Staff Appreciation Day. Staff members are entitled to two free general admission tickets. In addition, Defiance residents can purchase general admission tickets for $6 each. Last, Falcon Club members can purchase tickets to the game for only $4 each.

Can't even get the press release right. Hornish is actually from, and lives in Napoleon, Ohio.footballguy51 wrote:Some information I wanted to share with everybody that came in an email to the faculty/staff of BGSU.

Are you sure that the press release is that wrong? According to internet sources Sam has gotten around a lot of NW Ohio. He is reported as being born in Bryan. He graduated from Archbold HS and lived a lot of his life in Defiance. His foundation has a Defiance address. So, he may live in Napoleon now but he's truly a NW Ohio native.

Re: Sunday's game
I couldn't sleep all night because I was so excited about Sam Hornisch Jr day (sarcasm ).....what a weird promotion. Does anyone really think this is going to attract anyone to the game? At least the department is trying to do something I guess. Maybe we can get our engines going a little bit and mix in a win.
Re: Sunday's game
BG is favored by 3.5. This game should be a W.

Re: Sunday's game
It "should" be a W ....and It WAS!!!!!!!
Didn't listen to game as we were out Christmas shopping...bad enough listening to the Brown's Fiasco.
But clicked on to end of summary and BG won by 9 I think.

Heard from a fellow photographer at the game that he was sitting on the baseline and got caught in the middle of a fight between the two teams? Anyone go to the game and see it?

Re: Sunday's game
Not a big deal. Intentional foul and a little pushing and shoving.
Re: Sunday's game
Was the attendance really 685? Wow.
Re: Sunday's game
Maybe that many! I want to know if ANY NCAA Division Women's basketball team has EVER averaged more in attendance for a season than the men's team at the same school. We just might set an NCAA record!!!!!
I'm sure the Sam Hornish promotion was responsible for many of those there today!!!!

Re: Sunday's game
It was truly an FRO crowd. Steve Skiles was/is an idiot. I never heard of a ref arguing wiht the FANS!
Wednesday's crowd was thin (listed at under 1300, but this one was thinner.

Re: Sunday's game
How many think Skiles had an agenda to call fouls on Cameron Black? He called the first four on him and they were all questionable. Of course, this was after he spent 5 minutes drooling all over "Zeke" pregame. I guess those hoosiers try to stick together. Absolutley ridiculous!

Wasn't the best travel day. Nice win!Falcon137 wrote:Was the attendance really 685? Wow.
