Game Thread: Ohio State vs. Bowling Green
Re: Game Thread: Ohio State vs. Bowling Green
I think the second half of the season will show a lot. Our schedule was very difficult the first half because of the travel. We have six wins, but three of those are against arguably the worst team in college hockey. The second half is filled with series against teams that we should be able to compete with, we need to get a few wins against legitimate opponents. I agree with bgsufalcon24 though, it is frustrating being in last place again. The only reason people are more patient is because we have a new coach. I personally thought we should have stayed with Williams, although Bergeron has done a good job with our overall team defense. The only thing I question about that is I think the goalies have both played really well at times, so I don't know how much is defense or goaltending. Hopefully, we can at least find a way out of last place, but I'm not expecting a major second half run.

I actually thought we were headed in the right direction and believe we still are slowly, but how bad are we? We play tough against the Notre Dames, Michigans and Miamis, but look sloopy against Superior & Ohio State.
Speculating that if we can play tough against tough teams we should be able to split weekends against middle of the pack and lower level teams. WE ARE NOT DOING THAT.
We have a LONG LONG way to go. I just hope that if takes us 4 to 5 years to be a .500 team that the administration doesn't threaten the program again, it may take that long.

"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second."

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

Was at the game last night. Great crowd, fun atmosphere! THE Ohio State University looked like the had the size and speed advantage over the good guys, but to their credit, they played pretty good hockey. We will be back on Jan. 28th against Lake Superior St., I believe and my kids are really looking forward to it!

The one area I would like to see changed is the players defending themselves more when getting run at. I mean, get the elbow up if I guy is looking to slam you into the boards. You put the elbow in their face they won't be in such a hurry to take a run at you the next time. I know they aren't the biggest team, but they don't have to take those hits.
