Chauncey Orr

USA Today
RECRUITING RETURNS: Bowling Green signed Canton Timken (Ohio) HS teammates Jehvon Clarke and Desmond Rorie in the early signed period. Clarke is a 6-foot-1 point guard and Rorie is a 6-9 post player. Clarke, who is the son of Timken assistant coach Antwan Williams, averaged 15.5 points, 5.6 assists and 3.0 steals per game as a junior. He also made 35.6 percent of his 3-point attempts. "Jehvon is dynamic," BG head coach Louis Orr said. "He's good in the open floor, he can score for himself and get to the rim, he can make open shots, and he can create for others. With Joe Jakubowski graduating after this year, we need another playmaker and Jehvon fits into our system. He is a quality young man and is highly seasoned, having played AAU with the Ohio Basketball Club." Although he flew under the radar of college recruiters, Rorie is a 220-pound big man with a long wingspan. He averaged 3.7 points, 5.4 rebounds and 3.7 blocks per game a year ago. "Desmond is one of the most athletic big men in the state," Orr said. "He runs the floor well, is a good shot blocker, is mobile, and has huge upside -- I think more than any big guy in the state of Ohio. If he continues to work, he can be a presence and can add size alongside freshman Cameron Black." With only one senior on the current roster and the potential of 11 scholarship players returning next season, Orr and his staff may not sign any more players in the spring. However, there is an intriguing scenario with Orr's son, Chauncey, who is a senior at Bowling Green High School. Chauncey Orr, 6-4, is on pace to become the leading scorer in BGHS history, passing Josh Almanson, who developed into an all-conference performer at Bowling Green. Chauncey Orr has played at a high level in summer leagues and is a potential mid-major player. He starts his senior season with 953 career points at BGHS.

Chauncey opens with a double-double. 17 points and 10 boards in a 65-58 victory over Findlay!

Re: Chauncey Orr
Orr is doing well this year it looks like. 17pts 10reb in a win vs. Findlay and 18 points in their latest win. Can't seem to find any kind of recruiting information on him online though. He is a senior right? I'd think some schools would be looking at him.

Re: Chauncey Orr
When we had a preseason deal with the coach, he said Chauncey can go to any school outside of BG but a MAC school
He's still leaning toward coming here, I guess, but things can change.

Chauncy had 25 tonight against Perrysburg and was clearly the difference in the game, takng over in the last two quarters. Both Coach Orr and Stone were at the game in Perrysburg.

Chauncey had 31 last night to lead the still-undefeated BG Bobcats over Springfield....

'still-undefeated' in the weak NLL. They have lost twice this season, to Whitmer and Westerville Central.ZiggyZoomba wrote:Chauncey had 31 last night to lead the still-undefeated BG Bobcats over Springfield....

Still...BG has some solid wins, Whitmer is considered a Top 15 D I team, Central is a solid club, and both of the losses were close.Warthog wrote:'still-undefeated' in the weak NLL. I don't know and none of us are allowed to ask
Re: Chauncey Orr
Someone posted some video of Chauncey from the Southview game on Tuesday night. Enjoy

And FWIW, the Bobcats can win the league title on Friday night with a win at home over Perrysburg. Big rivalry with the Yellow Jackets. If you don't have anything better to do, go watch this game. (About two months ago my wife bought tickets to the Jerry Seinfeld concert in Toledo, which happens to be Friday night as well. I'm a little disappointed that I won't be able to got to the basketball game.)

So yeah, I'll be watching a basketball team a little below the level of BG/Perrysburg
