tonights game vs UW-Milw

Post by Drago »

Tonights game is going to be a tough one. Milwaukee is a solid team and are favored by 10.5. Hopefully we'll see a good effort from the team and build off last Sundays game. I don't like are chances though, I heard tonight is Dick Trickle Night at the arena, so it is going to be a really rowdy atmosphere. Hopefully we can overcome all those Trickle fans and get a road win.

BG struggled early, but has gotten back into it in the first half.

BG gets a putback at the buzzer to take a 36-35 lead to the half.

BG was up 11, but went cold again and lost 72-69. Career high for Calhoun and Thomas had some good numbers, but missed an awkward shot down 2 with :10 to go.

Slow start and rough finish killed BG tonight.

We lose by 3, 72-69. Clearly the difference in this game was at the line. UW was 20-28, where we shot a dismal 6-15. They made 14 more free throws than us

Calhoun with a big game for BG tonight in a losing effort. Go figure, we shoot 49% from the field only to go 40% from the free throw line. Damn, damn, damn!

From reading the play by play I see we were down 10-0 as we didn't score the first 6 minutes of the game. Take that away and we smoke these guys tonight... A'uston Calhoun had 3 dunks tonight and appeared to be scoring from all over the court. Another solid night from Cam Black too. Progress is painfully slow, but I think we will hold our own in a weak MAC.

Milwaukee's best scorer didn't even play in the game according to the Sentinel. When you lead by double digits in the second half you have to win the game. Another losing performance by a Falcon team. I can't stand how bad we are across the board in all sports. BG fans have to rationalize that close losses mean we are improving. Just another loss.....

The most concerning thing for me is that we put Crawford back on the bench. He clearly IMO has played his way to a starting PG spot but he starts on the bench here. Seems like there is no method to the madness

Just play Sealey until he gets in foul trouble...period. He along with Calhoun and Thomas make a sweet front line

I completely understand why Crawford is back on the bench. He is a shooter that doesn't run the offense well. Sure he is a firecracker on defense but the last thing we need right now is another guy demanding the ball alongside Dee Brown, Scott Thomas, and A'uston Calhoun. Right now he is great off the bench allowing a vetern player to command the offense. We lost that game off of fouls and the free throw line. Shooting 40% from the free throw line absolutely killed us. Also the heavy foul trouble of our bigs. But I was glad to see Scott Thomas be that all around player he is.

The games that I have seen Joe Jack has given us next to nothing on the floor. On paper he is a veteran player that commands the offense. On the floor thats just not the case from the statistics and the games I have seen. Crawford is great energy, I agree but he is also the far better player as a whole. Calling him a shooter is not really accurate. He has had to shoot when others wont but when Brown and Calhoun are shooting then he seems to be content with letting the offense flow. Did not see the game yesterday though.

Your comments about Joe Jak and Craw were certainly true tonight, with the exception of the shooter part.
