A look at Manhattan

Post by Globetrotter »

I will go to the game tomorrow pending the weather and a trip up from CBus. I did a little looking into the team we play. They are on a 9 game losing streak but have been close in quite a few including one v Georgia. Their roster is below and they, like us, dont appear to have a real standout or much height. Definitely one we can win. 2 guys to watch are Jemison who is a transfer from Alabama and Beamon

2-9 Manhattan
1 Alvarado FR 6-2 185 12.5p 3.4r 3.4a 83%FT Walsh SR 5-10 150 4.8p
2 Brutus JR 6-1 220 9.2p 3.2r 35% 3
3 Beamon SO 6-4 170 14.3p 7.5r Gabriel SR 6-6 215 5.5p
4 Brown FR 6-6 215 6.8p 8.4r 1.9b Martina JR 6-8 215 5.5p
5 Jemison SR 6-8 240 10p 10r

Any truth to the rumor Nascar driver Mark Martin will be at the game tomorrow signing autographs? That should pack Anderson for sure...maybe we'll even get 750 fans.

 No wonder the marketing department doesn't promote games very much, the one game they do promote a good ammount because a local celebrity is there and they get ridiculed for it.

I always park in the lot behind the health center adjacent to the cemetery.

They are allowing you to park in the lot next to Anderson this year, but it costs $5 (I think in years past you had to have a Falcon Club pass to get in there at all).

With no students on campus, shouldn't have a problem getting a decent spot in the lot by the cemetery.

I am a NASCAR fan and my buddy is a huge Sam Hornish fan. I heard NOTHING about the appearance before the game so I did not attend. Had I known, there would have at least been two more in attendance.

The game is on BCSN tv tonight.

I'm new to Time Warner Cable. Anybody know if BCSN tv is available in the Akron area?

BCSN is the Buckeye Cable Sports Network. To my knowledge it's only carried on Buckeye Cable in the Toledo area.

I love that they carry the BG games, but I've always thought it odd that you cannot even get this station in BG, as we too are stuck with Time Warner Cable (or dish/direcTV, which is what I opt for).

You can bet that if it's being aired live though that it will probably find its way to channelsurfing.net

Yeah saying they promoted the game a good amount probably was an overstatement, I'm just tried of him going into every game thread now after the FIU game saying I hear so and so NASCAR driver is going to be there and how attendence was going to suck. They tried something and it didn't work, not a first and not the last time it'll happen. It was crappy weather, a crappy opponent, and we aren't playing well, no matter what celebrity we got for that game the attendence was going to suck

It looked real small on the interwebs. I think some celebrities are just bigger than life. Sam Hornish isn't one.
