1. if it's such a big deal (although they were the owners of these items) then the suspension should start immediatly,

2. as an ESPN radio host always says: it means more to the fans than the athletes (this is rather obvious with the gold pants being sold and the fan reaction), and

3. Tressel should consider changing the tradition from gold pants to a tatoo after defeating scUM and another tatoo for winning the B101112ormore.

Most interesting is that, at least so far, NO ONE has mentioned WHO these kids sold this stuff to...if it's a booster, there's even MORE dirt under the rug.

The feds notified OSU officials that the items were found in a tattoo shop the feds were watching.

If I was in the OSU Compliance Office, I'd being looking for a brad new job after getting thrown under the bus by the Athletic Director. It is kind of lame that any player of any school can't sell their possessions. That is what they are, possessions that they earned. So what if it comes from the school...an award has to come from somebody.

You have 4 championship rings and 4 gold pants. what the hell do you need all four of them for anyways? sell three and keep one of each for yourself.

I think it hurts peoples (fans) feelings more than the action is wrong. NCAA is communist for even having the rule. Me? I am not so feminine as some fans who think it is atrocious that they would sell their awards. It doesn't mean the accomplishments didn't happen. They are just material. They are just a symbol.

But hey I will be the first to admit OSU has a great team year in and year out. Sadly that it is the truth. I won't say much for the rest of the conference. I love ripping on the Big Ten, it's so easy. It's far easier to win the Big Ten than it is the SEC. Your other co-champions got their nuts handed to them by the 4th place finishers of the SEC west. And I guess by your definition TCU smoked Wisconsin.

Just look at the recruiting rankings this year. Per ESPN's rankings 9 SEC teams in the top 25! The Big Ten had one and two if you count their new comer. Real tough competition to win the Big Ten there when you got nobody else landing 4 and 5 star recruits. The gap between the two conferences continues to lengthen. 5 straight national championships and you can make a case that Auburn should have been in 2004 so it could easily be 6 out of the last 7 going to the SEC. The Big Ten has OSU and nobody else. No way OSU goes 11-1 every year if they play in the SEC west. The SEC west is loaded. The only thing the rest of the country can hope for is the SEC beats up on itself and every team has at least 2 losses. Hasn't happened lately though.

Oh yeah note to self when naming a conference, leave numbers out of the name.
