Some great dunks (plus one tremendous almost), some great steals, some great hustle and a nice win at home for all to see. The program is going in the right direction. The offense moved the ball and cut without the ball today - a nice glimpse of what the offense can be. The hands and anticipation on defense were very disruptive for Miami.

I think our coaching staff might have something to do with this progress.

Can't wait to see this team again.

Very good win today against a well coached and experienced team in Miami. The Oglesby dunk was as good as Anderson Arena has seen in quite some time and he, Crawford, and Kraus need to start in my opinion. That is a great 3-some when they get their minutes and we can't afford to be playing players because they have played in the past(Jako, Brown, McCelroy) We are doing the other teams a favor when Kraus, Oglesby and Crawford are not in there with Thomas and Calhoun.

This is exactly what I had hoped we'd be seeing right about now. Stifling defense and some options on offense. The D is what's really impressive.

Largest crowd in 4 years in Anderson for a men's game today. Made a HUGE difference.

BIG game against OU on Wednesday. I think we'll come away with another big one then!

We're STILL getting better. February is what I can't wait to see. There'll be bumps along the way, but I really like where we are.

Is that true. That is flat out awful. During my time in 1998-2003 The Stacey and McLeod years, that would have been an average crowd. Great to see today though and hopefully that will just be the start and we can catch some momentum. Didn't see much of a student section. That's not to say there were not students but there was a lack of a cohesive, enthusiastic group that leads the fans

My thoughts on the second game I watched in person.

Yet again the team lacked energy to start out with a starting lineup of Jaku-Brown-Thomas-Black and Calhoun. 14-4 at one point. Then got some energy and had a nice 23-6 run to close the half. Were not hitting the threes to start and if they don't hit the shots that group does not tend to find their shots. Craw and Kraus provided great energy off the bench.

With all that said, and with honestly no judgment on Orr, I can't imagine a more frustrating situation then to start a game and then play sparingly the rest of the game. I would say its clearly the right choice but I hope that he is having some good conversations with guys like Jaku, Black and Brown.

At the guard spots I think you still go with whomever has the hot hand at both positions. Today it was Kraus and Craw, in the past I have seen it be Brown and Jaku. Its a good problem to have. In the zone Craws height is not nearly the liability it would be. At least today it wasn't, maybe teams will just start shooting over him.

Oglesby needs to see more minutes and despite my thoughts that Sealy might end up being pretty good, I just don't think there are enough minutes to go around in the post between Calhoun, Sealy, Oglesby, Black and McCelroy.

Erger played extended time today and was pretty decent overall. Didn't do anything special but seemed more athletic and like he fit in more.

If someone is bored and wants to go through the play by play I would like to see what JoJaks +/- point differential Is when he is on the court. I know coming into this year he was a three year starter but 3 games into the MAC season I believe he is a minus 37 when he is on the court. Heck we were done 8 yesterday 5 min into the game. And JoJak only played 4 more minutes the rest of the game.

If we can get any defensive play out of him and just distribute the ball on the offense we willbe a very tough out. I like crawford and kraus coming off the bench. Brings us energy after the other team has gassed for a good 5 to 6 minutes. We just need Brown and JoJak to play more consistently.

If we can win our home games, steal a couple more on the road, plus Toledo next Tuesday we could easily by 11-5 or 12-4. We just need to protect our house starting Wednesday with a huge game against Ohio.

Man, I wish I could get to some games this year. But as I can't, Todd Walker's broadcasts will have to do, and he is such a good game commentator. And I'm very glad to be able to listen to those free online. I had the audio for the game on and the NFL on my TV on mute. It was a good day.

Erger had a solid 8 minutes of play and was better than he has been all season. Had great awareness to get a missed shot off the backboard up before the shot clock expired and had an extremely nice block on the other side of the court. Erger had some special plays today to compliment a special bench that carried us.
