Very nice win tonight! Great to bounce back after letting that one at Akron slip away, and even better that it was against Toledo. Tonight, we pulled ahead but couldn't really ever put them away until the very end. So nice to see us pull this one out as we were in almost the exact same situation down the stretch tonight as we were against the Zips a game ago. Now let's not let Eastern Michigan sneak in here and get a win in Anderson Arena next game like they did the last time they Eagles were in BG when they ended our six-game win streak. Great win Falcons!!! GO BG!!!

Oglesby makes me reminisce about Floyd Miller and James Cerisier. Although I don't know if even those two threw down this hard from inside the paint on a regular basis. I hope the backboard he eventually shatters is on the road.

I agree.
I feel like the rim slept with Oglesby's Girlfriend.

LOL! I just posted a thread about Miller a second ago. No doubt, I agree!

Loved when one of those guys would get out on a break. Showtime!

I was actually thinking about Floyd Miller last night as well, but Miller had more of a soft touch around the basket. He was near the top of the nation in FG % one season and although he threw down he had more of a finesse game from 6ft in.

For my money a Joe Moore jam is the best dunk you can buy.

But, Ogelsby is more of a drop step dunker like Tom Hall or Ed Colbert but he has the athletic ability of Miller.

Either way he is exciting to watch around the rim!

Anybody currently bemoaning Michael 'nice plugs' Reghi could not have listened to those two incompetent Akron homers Saturday night, that's for sure!

Okay, I have to ask. What in the world actually happened on that supposed goaltending call in the second half. And if it was goaltending and the player got fouled, why was there not an 'and-1' free throw attempt?

Also, sure looked like a flagrant foul to me as the defender got no where near the ball.

The ref right in front of the BG bench called '3 seconds' on that play. On the replay from under the basket you can clearly see him making that call.

My biggest complaint about Reghi (and Mix) last nite was the FEDERAL ISSUE they made about UT being "penalized" for good defense against BG late in the game...they tied up Crawford, but it was BG's ball on alternating possessions...They made a HUGE deal that this penalized UT, and that the rule needs to be changed to "reward" good D in the last 2 minutes of the game, or some such drivel...never mind that they'd have loved it had it been the reverse... and it seems to me that this rule has been in existence for more than a couple of years.

First off, nice win, Falcons. Neither team is very good but I think BG has more horses, lots of sloppy plays, no look passes the other team, alley-oops that hit the underside of the rim (thank you, Luke Krause) and clueless defenders allowing passesout of triple teams to guys standing four feet away . I thought for the most part the refs were quite good.

as for the alternate possession rule, I didn't hear the radio broadcast but don't see how anyone gets penalized. Before it came into affect the refs had to do an actual jump ball which was not good either and still gave the defensive team only about a 50-50 chance at the ball. I hate rules that change for the last couple minutes. UT still got the arrow switched and if we got another tieup situation we got the ball so there was a small advantage to UT.

Fun game to watch, though. Calhoun must be a real enigma for Orr. Clearly has some talent but got some ill-advised shots blocked before he figured out he could pass. If he plays smart he could be an All-MAC candidate. The back and forth between Griffin and him was pretty exciting. We just have trouble finding a third scorer after Griffin and Holliday. Both teams played very hard, if not very well and it was a geat rivalry game.

H2O, It wasn't on the radio broadcast...it was STO's TV coverage...and both Reghi and Mix seemed in agreement that the rule wasn't "fair" to a good defensive team...my point was just that this rule has been around for quite awhile...and it's certainly not the 1st time that a team "ties up" the leading team, but loses on the alternate possession rule... these two guys made it sound as if UT was getting "screwed" over for playing good D.
