To make such a prediction a month ago, you'd had to be smoking some real high quality sh*t, that's for sure. But such is life I guess, you think you know everything, and then things change and you don't. But hey, I'm not going to complain about this. Our men have really pulled together and look like they are building steam as the 2nd round of east games and the postseason approaches.
I should point out though, that we had to go down to the wire to beat two of the worst teams in Division I the last two games. While W's are W's no matter if you win by 1 or 50, I do wonder if we'll be able to keep it up against better opposition coming down the stretch. We're not good enough to just coast by teams, so I don't think it's that.
Cautious optimism, I think is the correct term here.

Let's recap the main points shall we:
1.Last month, you'd have to be nuts to think our men would have a better in-conference record than our women. True. The men had 2 wins and the women had one loss.
2.The men are playing better and building momentum. True. They've won 5 of 7 games in MAC play.
3.We just beat two of the worst teams in Division I by close margins. True. Toledo and EMU have RPIs in the 300s, so these are games we should have won. Neither of those games was over until the final two minutes.
4.We're not good enough to coast by teams. True.
So yeah, please explain to me how that last post was pessimistic in nature.
