One positive on twitter is that you don't have to join to watch the updates.Globetrotter wrote:i hate twitter, the idea of it is just gross to me so i hope they get this fixed so i dont have to join.
I don't have a twitter account either, yet I followed the football signings today by having the BG Athletics twitter feed open.

Re: No NIU game thread...
BG is like the cat with 9 lives right now, we're living dangerously but are finding a way to get the W at the end of the day.
To be 6-2 in the conference at the midway point is great, we're right in the thick of it for the #1 seed and more importantly to finish top 4 and get a 1st round bye in the MAC Tournament. The field is wide open this year without a dominant team in the conference and this group has to be feeling good about themselves right now having won 3 straight and 5 of their last 6.
The fact that we gave up a 6 point lead in the final minute and couldn't finish at the foul line late gives me the jitters, but for now I'm just going to enjoy the ride as much as possible. We'll get down to business against those big bad east division teams when the time comes.

How is it possible that Scott Thomas shoots 56% on free throws? He made two in the overtime, granted. But they wouldn't have been needed by making just 1 of 2 at the end of regulation. Ugh.
Re: No NIU game thread...
Great to pull this one out, especially how we let it get away from us in regulation. GO BG!!!

Re: No NIU game thread...
will always take a road win in conference, no matter how we get it
just keep working on those free throws boys, don't need that to cost us something down the road

Once again, Crawford selfishly keeps the ball for the last 13 seconds of the game in regular time, trying to make that game winning shot, then tries to shoot over a guy 6 inches taller then him at the buzzer. Seriously, dude, pass the damn ball. We had time to get a better shot off and could have possibly avoided the OT !!!

Re: No NIU game thread...
First of all, thanks to the guys who gave me a "running" score last nite when I couldn't get online broadcast...It finally came thru and I heard the las 2 minutes of OT or so....MarkL wrote:Well, at least we won.
Not to sound like a broken MP3, but better free throw shooting and that game was put away a long time ago. Better free throw shooting and this is a rock solid team.
I know everybody is on Todd Walker's back for bias right now, but I gotta wonder ... when we have 8 fouls and they have 2, is there something going on? I mean, I just don't see how one team could possibly be playing that much closer than the other to have that kind of foul disparity. Possibly, just possibly, the refs were calling BG a lot tighter than NIU in order to give them a chance given that two starters were out with the flu, a bench guy was out recovering from an appendectomy, and another depth guy was hobbled with an ankle injury. It's not right for the refs to call one team tighter than the other, but if it happened today, I could believe it.
Still ... a road win is a road win. Go Falcons!
Re: the officials...Mark, it's hard for me to believe that the refs looked over at the NIU bench and said, "gee, they look depleted...let's give them an extra break on calls tonite"... if that were the case, the Cavs would be at .500 right now.
Education our Challenge, Excellence our goal. (look it up)
Re: No NIU game thread...
I can't believe that was the call Orr made. Too many times this year Crawford has dribbled until the clock ran out, or until there was one or two seconds left on the clock and he either got no shot off or a horrible shot off, like the shot last night. If that was the call Orr made, we are 0 - 3 at it. My personal opinion, it's Crawford wanting to be the hero. Maybe next time he should pass the ball just to see what happens!transfer2BGSU wrote:BGSUHoops wrote:Once again, Crawford selfishly keeps the ball for the last 13 seconds of the game in regular time, trying to make that game winning shot, then tries to shoot over a guy 6 inches taller then him at the buzzer. I really dont think Crawford deserves much blame for that game.
