Way to Curt !!!!!!!!!

Post by bgsu93 »

The injuries that Curt mentioned in his Thurday (Feb. 10, 2001) is a real pysch job!!
“Lauren Prochaska has been in a protective boot since the game last Saturday,” BG head coach Curt Miller said Thursday. “We are anticipating for her to practice for the first time today (Thursday) a little bit and see how she feels.”
The injury is to Prochaska’s left foot. The team did not practice Sunday or Monday and Prochaska did not participate in Tuesday or Wednesday’s drills. Miller expected Prochaska to only participate in half-court drills Thursday.
“I’m certainly not a doctor, but we don’t want it to turn into a stress fracture in her foot. It’s on her upper foot,” Miller said. “It’s more of a stress reaction and it’s going to take time to heal. We obviously we don’t have a lot of time.
“Being in a weight-bearing boot where it protects her outside of basketball activities, trying to keep her off the foot as much as possible now for the rest of the season, is kind of the practice that we have in place.”
Miller said he couldn’t pinpoint when the injury occurred, but that it had been a problem for three-plus weeks.
“We have had Lauren for very few full practices over the last three weeks. We have tried to manage the pain, manage her minutes practiced, so we could get her through games,” Miller said.
“She’s never complained about it. She’s a warrior. It was nice to see her last home game against Ball State put together a nice game, because I know she’s hurting. But at least it give her some confidence that she can step back up and have good games,” Miller added.
I say this is because if Lauren's injury is as serious as Curt Say's it is then why would allow her to play entire game (40 min)? Or is Curt philosophy "To Hell with a Player's injury win at any Cost"

I guess it is "Win at any Cost" Similar to the Nikki McCoy ordeal.

BGSU93? I guess you haven't noticed how LP has struggled mightily the past three plus weeks? You don't go from scoring 22 pts a game to 4 pts, 6 pts, 1 for 9 shooting, 1 for 8 shooting, missing 3 FTs in a game when you are a career 90.5% shooter.

LP has been in a protective boot all week and even when she was hurt she still played 37 min per game. Two years ago she hyper-extended her knee and she played a week later in a NIT game and scored over 20 points

LP is a fighter and gives us 100 percent even when she is hurt. Tracy Pontius is hurt and playing as well just not as much.

LP is not a Jay Cutler!! When I was in high school many years ago I played through a torn acl and broken ribs. It all depends on your pain tolerance. If you have noticed Lauren for the past several weeks has been settling for jump shots rather than taking the ball to the rim. Why? Because I jump shot is easier on the foot rather than the driving, which adds more pressure with the quick first step. Plus driving to the basket could create a chance for her to get a hard foul and fall to the ground further injuring herself.

Curt was not over-reacting. You sound just like the radio announcer for UT. Just sit back and enjoy the handful of games we have with LP.

BGSU93, perhaps you don't understand the difference between playing with pain and playing with an injury. As long as you can't further injure yourself, players are given the OK to play by the medical staff. The coach doesn't make this determination, the medical staff does.

As for what this has to do with Nikki McCoy, I have no idea.

For you to even question the fact that Lauren Prochaska was injured or not, really puzzles me.

I can't believe what I've read on this tread or why it was even started. I agree with all the positive reasons posters gave for Lo to play. She is going to play no matter what. She even surprises her Mom especially after the knee business. We don't know what other pain she been through as she played her way to us. I'm going to enjoy the time we have with her on the court. If you want to bail on the coaches--head and/or all of them---then I guess it's your loss. You'll be missing history every time she picks up a ball. I'm behind the coaches. They have a medical staff to look to for direction ie Simone Eli didn't dress @ EMU possible concussion. Let them coach, I'll cheer when I get rid of this   :? sinus infection.

I think Dustin, Birdman and now BGSU93 all come from a different breed. True Falcons would not constantly bash the program. Looks like I just added another FOE to my list.

As I have mentioned and now Sue have mentioned let's just enjoy the last three home games we see LP suit it up in AA. Let the coaches do their jobs! Let the medical staff do its job! And let the athletes compete at the highest level they are capable of.

For years our board was pretty much Troll free but I am so sick of some members bashing the athletic program. I guess I should ignore it but it still pisses me off. Even though I can ignore the posts other people, including players family and friend still have to put up with the Trolls.

Thank God! I thought you would still go to games or follow them online and post more of your thoughts here. Whew! That was close!

OK...first of all WTF does "way to Curt" mean?

Secondly... http://twitter.com/CurtMillerBGWbb

Prochaska felt the best she had in weeks...it showed by scoring an amazing 37 points and grabbing 12 rebounds. Thanks also to the trainers

Sorry for my frankness, but I'm really starting to lose all patience with stupid people.

bgsu93, I want you to do two things:

1) Look at the box score from yesterday
- you'll notice that NOBODY but LP was in double digits point-wise, so who else could have possibly given us a chance to win that game?
- Tracy Pontius only played 17 minutes (probably because of her injury). She usually has 30+ minutes

2) Listen to Lauren's post-game audio
- She was asked how she felt playing today and she said her injury didn't hurt that much and that was because it was in the boot all week

That being said, I hope you re-evaluate your position and your logic. If you don't and you bail on these coaches, team, program, and ultimately the university, then good riddance because you aren't adding anything at this point anyway.

Besides the obvious grammar of a middle school student, you are way off base. Curt is the only reason this program is where it is today, and any one who questions him is not a friend of mine. The guy is an amazing coach, and he deserves so much credit for building this dynasty and doing it the right way. And I would love to hear your list of other problems you have with this coaching staff......one maybe two bumps in how many years?? Get real, dude.

I bet he or she is probably really upset that one of our coaches broke a clipboard yesterday (either Roos or Poole, I missed it when it happened some how). How can we support a staff that has no regard for clipboards  :-D

I'm going to assume bgsu93 was merely being sarcastic. If not, oh well. His/her loss.
