BG - OU

Post by gmartin »

For those going to the game tonight don't forget to wear pink. I just got into town and people at Easy Street are looking funny at me. Come on? Haven't they seen a grown man dressed in pink? I told them it was for the game tonight and out of 8 people not one knew there was a women's game tonight. Very sad. I am hoping we come on firing and take a huge lead into halftime so we can rest Tracy and Lauren

A poor shooting first half but thanks to our defense we hold a slim lead over OU. Halftime BG 31 OU 27

Chrissy Steffen leads us with 10pts. LP hasn't made a FG and has only 2 pts

Great game by Steffen. 22 pts, 4 reb, 2 assists, 2 steals and a block

Played about 30 min. No fouls and no TO's

Pontius had a great game too

LP was held scoreless from the field but was 7 for 8 from the line

BG now 21-4, 9-3. Only 4 conference games remain.

I didn't hear the attendance but it was about the normal mid-week crowd. I would guess 1700.

UA beat UB tonight eliminating UB from any hopes of division title. Now either us or Kent. Kent plays Miami tomorrow. not sure who I want to win. If Miami wins they will go into the game with BG on a win. If Miami loses they will be hungrier for a win. One good thing, they play tomorrow and have less than 24 hours to prepare for BG.

Also UT beats WMU by 37 points. Almost doubled them up.

Crowd was our average Wednesday crowd, although they seemed a bit more vocal than they usually are for the typical midweek MAC matchup. I think the fans are sensing that this team needs that extra vocal support, and they are responding :)

Oh, and for the record, announced attendance was 1849. For comparison's sake, our average attendance in 2002-3 was 417.

Who's all going to Miami? I'll be there, hope to see lots of friendly faces!

Western Michigan beat Toledo AND Bowling Green? Somehow I don't remember them beating UT, but if true that's a case study in the wackiness of MAC basketball.

Central Michigan was the team that beat Toledo, not Western.

WMU lost to slUT by 3 points in OT. Western had a 5 pt lead with :50 remaining and blew it. Maybe Freak turned off the stats monitor when :50 remaining
