That'll make tailgating easier. Shorter, but easier. :drinkers:

In the least surprising news, Akron at Kent State was the game ESPN picked to be played Friday night.

I got my tickets this past weekend. First row of the upper level. Can't wait to see Greer, Newburn and Irish again. Surprised David Jenkins didn't make the team but can't put everyone from that era on the all-time team. Joe Faine was another one that could have been considered.

Are you sure Jenkins isn't on that team? Jenkins was better than all of those guys and was getting mentioned as a potential 1st round pick at one point.

Any idea how many tickets they still have available? I had *assumed* the game would be a sellout. It would be disappointing if that is not achieved.

I hope it's a sellout. AA deserves it.

I would think it would be a sellout, but maybe not the we way our attendance has been. Maybe people are waiting for Christopher to start giving tickets away.

From the official release...

Bowling Green, Ohio – The final Bowling Green State University men’s basketball game in Anderson Arena will take place on Saturday, March 5. The Athletics Department will also recognize its All-Anderson Team that day and will hold the BiG Event that evening as a once-in-a-lifetime event featuring food, cash bar, live and silent auctions, raffles, and music from KGB Band.

Bowling Green will host Buffalo in the final game. Both teams are 7-4 in the Mid-American Conference currently and are competing for a bye through the first round of the MAC Tournament and the possibility of a regular season league championship.

A game time has not yet been set because of the possibility of a MAC Tournament women’s basketball game that day as well. If the BGSU women’s basketball team receives a bye through the first round (one of the top four seeds), the men’s basketball game will take place at 1 p.m. Details are still being worked out in the case there is a doubleheader on that day with the BGSU women hosting a first round MAC Tournament game.

Thirteen former players were selected as members of the All-Anderson Team, a collection of the best BGSU players to play in the Anderson Arena era. Those 13 members represent 19 first team All-MAC selections, four MAC Players of the Year, and six members of the BGSU Athletics Hall of Fame. Eight of the 13 players were selected in the NBA Draft and/or played in the NBA. One of those players, Nate Thurmond, is an NBA Hall of Famer and was named one of the 50 Greatest Players in NBA History. The entire All-Anderson Team is Cornelius Cash, Antonio Daniels, Bob Dwors, David Greer, Colin Irish, Shane Kline-Ruminski, Howard Komives, Keith McLeod, Marcus Newbern, Jim Penix, Walt Piatkowski, Anthony Stacey, and Thurmond. Fans can purchase tickets for the final men’s basketball game in Anderson Arena by visiting the link above or calling 877-BGSU TICKET. There are limited tickets remaining for the BiG Event and they can be purchased by visiting the link above or by calling 419-372-2401 and reserving a spot today.

Student tickets for the final home game at Anderson Arena against Buffalo on March 5 can be picked up at the Information Desk inside Bowen-Thompson Student Union starting Wednesday February 23, 2011. Tickets will be available for pick up during BTSU regular business hours. All students must present I.D. to pick up their ticket, and students will be required to present both their ticket and I.D. at the gate March 5

You should be hoping that's not true.

Any idea of start time for this game? Haven't heard one yet, I'd guess it's an early start given the event held at AA that evening. Time to clean-up arena and set-up for 8pm event. Maybe a noon, 1pm, or 2pm start?
