What was the difference from 1-9 to 10-4 to 1-5?

Post by Globetrotter »

Just curious what peoples thoughts are. So we started off as this crazy bumbling mess of a team. Came together and starting playing really well, and then we fell a part.

So what was the difference between the bad first 10 games the middle good 15 games and the last 6 games. i dotn get to watch a ton of games so I would appreciate a take or 2 from those who do.

From what I saw they started playing better whent hey got the more active guys inthe lineupand they started playing better on defense. I thought it was the zone but someone said we have been playing it all year. We settled in on a rotation and then played well and shot well...which i assume means we were getting better shots. Calhoun shopwed marked improvement over this time.

Then since we hit 500 hundo we have looked awful with no energy. I keep saying we are tired but I think its more then that. Any ideas?

The biggest difference, to me, in the stretch of good play was we created so much more offense off our defense. For that stretch the zone was very active and was moving quite well. Yeah, we have pretty much played zone all season long, but for whatever reason during that stretch it played so much better. Yes, I realize that the quality of opposition during that team wasn't stellar, but I'm not buying that as the only thing behind it. We played, and lost to, some bad teams early as well.

Yeah, the shooting percentage was better during that stretch, but the half court offense has been pretty abysmal all year long. The only way this team can shoot well is by creating turnovers and fast break opportunities. During our stretch of good play we were doing that. In both of our poor stretches our defense has been really lazy...we're giving up FAR too many wide open looks.
