You know it's really amazing, given our track record of success from the past 6-7 years, how little respect we get nationally. And it's not just us, other teams like Gonzaga, Old Dominion, Marist, Middle Tennessee, Hartford, and other mid-major powers of the last decade just don't seem to be valued in women's basketball like they do in men's. On the men's side, everybody knows Gonzaga. Everybody knows Butler. Everybody knows Xavier and Temple (although the Atlantic 10 is pretty much a BCS-level conference in men's basketball). Nobody will ever forget George Mason and their run to the Final Four. Even Kent State has been on the verge of that top mid-major echelon. BGSU's women's team has won more than Kent's men have over the past 10 years, the only advantage for them being that their major tournament run was to the Elite Eight whereas we only reached the Sweet Sixteen. And yet it seems like they are a known commodity to men's basketball fans moreso than BG is to women's basketball fans.
I think the NCAA women's committee is partly to blame for this, with their virtual stonewalling of any top mid-major teams like BG from getting at large bids (cough2009cough). The men's committee doesn't seem to systematically block entry to teams from outside the BCS like the women's committee does.
24. Quality provider of the truth, for better or for worse.
Coach Miller took the Seniors out one at a time. Congrats to all and THANK YOU for becoming Falcons!!!
BG rolled to a 92-68 win, to finish 25-4, 13-3 MAC. BG hit SIXTEEN 3pt's tonight.
BTW, ut leads CMU 82-68 with less than 3 min left. Unless a miracle happens, ut is gonna win the MAC regular season outright. We needed CMU to win to give us a share of the crown.
Time to win the tourney!! TOGETHER WE ATTACK!

BGSU-12 TIME MAC CHAMPION
FALCON FOOTBALL ROCKS!
The MAC Tournament will be tough and not sure if my calculations are correct but BG obviously plays the winner of the #7/#10 seed which I believe is NIU and WMU. BG was down by 3 points to NIU with a minute left and stole a win. WMU beats us. So I don't like either them teams. Get by that round and we play the #3/#6 winner, which is pairings hold will be Kent, and We split with Kent or Buffalo and Kourtney Brown just lit us up for #32.
We have won 8 straight games and every game here on out will definitely be earned. Going to be a great tournament.
Two starters, including our point guard, went down for good in the first half (well, Naama came back for one minute in the second half and had an assist and a hoop but sat the rest of the way) but no miracles for CMU. Exciting women's race that came down to the last game. Too bad both teams can't make the NCAAs.
That was SUCH a FUN, FUN game to be at!!! Just loved it that Curt got all of the players in the game by the end. Taking the seniors out one by one was brilliant! Standing O's for every one one of them!!! Place was just nuts tonight, or should I say The House was ROARING!!!!
"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second." ~~USCHO Poster "BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got." ~~USCHO Poster, AFTER Tech beat us #NeverGiveUp

It was great fun. Simone Eli got her first 2 points of the season last Saturday against Kent (2-2 FT). Tonight she hit a 3 with about 8 seconds left, her first FG of the season
