Apparently this channel was born out of some lawsuit against how ESPN/ABC regionalizes the coverage pf college games, forcing some people into pay-perview. Seems like a way to avoid a monopoly suit and get money from the cable/sat companies rather than the consumer.

It will be interesting to see how this channel affects what games are televised nationally. Guess we'll learn more on 03.04.05.
Just a wild guess here, but if the cable/sat companies incur costs, they may consider passing them downstream to the consumer ... with a 50% markup.

Zulu your crazy! It is going to be awesome for our players to play in Cleveland Stadium. The entire interior is brown and orange. I think we should do a home and home with Ohio State and other big traveling schools. We don't have the facilities, so let's use a neutral site. I love it.

I thought we dropped Michigan to do a so-called home & home with the Badgers...

OSU would be too chickensh*t to do a home and home with us at Browns Stadium.

Krebs said the other day he has talked to just about every BCS team and NONE of them want to play us at the Doyt...NONE.

Well, Comcast already tried to make ESPN a "premium" channel and it met some rather negative challanges. There really isn't too much info out there about ESPN U yet...pretty much just the comercials, which say nothing, and some internet speculation.

Wouldn't it be interesting if in fact Mr. Krebs replaced Mr. Geiger in C-bus. . . would add a new wrinkle to our struggles to schedule BCS teams. . .hmmmm.

A little Larry Smith/Don Nehlen type invite to play the Buckeyes in Cleveland??

I just hope ESPN doesn't cutaway from any BG games like they did with the Toledo game this year.

Was that the game where they cut it off and played the basketball game. I have a friend in Pittsburg and he told me about it, but he said he found the game on another network, I think ESPN Classics. I think if a game is running over, instead of cutting off that game, put the game that is suppose to be on on another ESPN network channel. Take off billiards or WSOP for a few minutes. Who cares about an eight ball tournament or a full house when a team is driving for the tying score.

Yup. I can honestly say I've never been so angry about something that a TV network pulled.

I think its just about time for you to move to Bowling Green. Someone said in anothe post that they are building more homes here and I think Freak was welcomed to one of them, maybe you could get one next to his new home. :)

Ah yes, to return to my beloved Ohio. Maybe some day ... :)

I think Noah would love it, that's for sure! 8)

Alright, I took some heat for wishing we kept Michigan on the schedule next year (apparently there is a rumor they've been removed from a game in September) in lieu of the Wisconsin away and Cleveland agreement.
For those of you that think giving up a game against a program like Michigan for this Wisconsin deal was the right move that's perfectly fine. As long as you'd feel the same about giving up a game against the Buckeyes should the same situation present itself. My guess is that perhaps some of you might think differently and I say there wouldn't be one difference, at least in terms of what were trying to establish nationally. Perhaps for the sole reason of being able to talk a little smack in-state, but I don't think that's a good reason.

Please, try to be objective about the situation.

My very first college football game was a Michigan-Ohio State game. I was cheering for the Wolverines, as was my whole family. I grew up 20 minutes from Michigan Stadium.

Bowling Green's 2000 game up there had a lot of meaning for me, and I was disappointed to see we wouldn't be playing up there again this coming fall.

But Bowling Green is located in Ohio, where we deal with the Buckeyes every day of our lives.

No regular season victory that we could imagine could have as much relevance to us as a win over Ohio State.

As much as I would have valued a game with Michigan this year, it isn't even a tough call to drop that game in favor of this series with Wisconsin.

It's as close to a home and home as we are ever going to get with one of the wealthiest programs in the country.

The only Big Ten programs clearly ahead of Wisconsin right now in terms of raw financial power are Michigan, Ohio State and Penn State.

In fact, as meaningful as a game at Ohio State would be this year, I'd would have dropped it to get this series with Wisconsin. The opportunity to play the Badgers in Ohio -- and only give up one true road game to do it -- is unprecedented in the MAC.
