I will have at least 1 extra ticket for Sat. Josh is playing in the Jazz band at the Green HS Expo so he and Mrs. Freak won't be going. Jake and I will be there...and possibly my mom. If not, I will have two extra. If interested, PM me and I'll know more tomorrow.

At any rate, I plan on enjoying the last game I'll ever see at AA....Josh said it best a month ago. "It's going to be sad not seeing games in AA anymore".

If Saturday is anything less than a sell out, everyone in attendance should get first dibs on seats for the opener next year.
Agreed. I never thought they would struggle to sell this game out...I'm amazed that it's come to this. I couldn't care less if they win or lose...I'm going to be in Anderson Arena for, quite possibly, the last time EVER.

Weird...

Now I like that idea. The reason I even bought my ticket package was just to assure getting seats for this game figuring it would sell out for sure. I ate a few games that I had tickets for because I couldn't make out there for the games. Some I was able to. Now it sounds like you should be able to just walk on up. I don't care if they have to give tickets away, I just hope people come out. It's not like we are trying to fill a 10,000-seat arena here. Crazy....I remember having to actually get tickets in advance for sellouts as a student for certain games in the regular season not long ago....

The athletic department tweeted this evening that walk up tickets will be available. The community should really be embarrassed.

As been previously mentioned, unfortunately the attendance for the community depends on the success of the team. And when you are 12-18, have just lost your previous game at home to some poor coaching decisions, no defense and poor shooting (along with some horrible calls) and before that got ran out out of your own gym by 35 points, people arent going to show. Who should really be embarrased in Louis Orr and the product he is putting on the floor. 30 games into the season and we have no defense, no offense and no leaders. You cant blame the community for a crappy basketball team year in and year out and you can't blame them for not supporting mediocre to poor basketball teams year in and year out. It gets old after a while. And you can only have so many die hards in a program that are willing to sit through those games, which will make a majority of the attendance on Saturday.

+4 or 5. I've lost count. This whining about the current team during what should be a celebration of the program's history is unbelievably myopic. Nevermind, it's quite believably myopic.

They can still get a tournament home game with a win, but that apparently doesn't matter.

Myopic or having higher expectations of BG basketball? 8th of 12 is not good in any industry. Finishing 8th/9th or worse 3 of 4 years is below the standard of what BG basketball should be. Especially when the conference as a whole is at rock bottom. I've watched BG basketball since I was 5. I sat underneath the basket as a kid with a towel cleaning sweat off the court. I can tell Anderson Arena stories for hour upon hour. Jamie Bosley hitting a three to win the game when BG only had 4 players left, the single most amazing game I've ever seen. Antonio Daniels dunk on Gary Trent. Jay Larranaga going for 40 points on Akron while barking at Dan Hipsher every time he scored. Anderson Arena was the best. I've also watched the last 7 years or so. Not alot of moments, and alot of drives home asking myself was it worth the 2+ hours to go and watch really poor basketball. I hope Saturday can be one final moment. With all that said, BG does not have a championship level coach in place. BG has had NBA players and not sold out games. BG has and will never consistantly sell out games. However, the coaches before Orr atleast made attempts to generate fans and generate support. Larranaga used his Junior Falcons program and Dakich used his Al-Mar Cheeseburger commercials. Atleast it was something. Part of the reason this game is not sold out is the disconnect the community has to this program along with a womens program in the midst of a run like no other. Like him or not just about everyone knew Dakich and had an opinion on him good or bad. I can't give away tickets to games that I can't make. Orr gives the media nothing to excite anyone about this program. That part is on the AD for not recognizing a bad fit. Combine that with a losing record and it is what it is.

As of 10:00am Friday morning over 1,500 tickets remain. I pray that means they are including the 1200 when they pull the upstairs bleachers out. That would increase capacity to 4700 and as of now, give us around 3200 for the game. However, if that doesn't include the extra bleachers we are looking at about 2000 fans for the last game. That will be embarrassing. I was also very disappointed in the women's attendance on Wednesday. Just under 2,000. We had more at the Kent, Toledo and CMU games. This was senior night and possibly the last time for LP and gang to play in AA. I was expecting about 1000 more for that game. Hopefully a huge walk up crowd will attend tomorrows game.

That was the last time you will see Lauren, Tracy, Jen, Maggie, Chelsea, and Kelly play in AA.

Not possibly. Not probably.

There could be a home NIT game for the women should the unthinkable happen.

But does every thread really have to divulge into rants about poor coaching and even looney-er...poor officiating?

And still having that many tickets left is disgusting. Has anyone gotten any e-mails about the game? Has anyone seen much information about former greats being at the game? I think I heard in passing somewhere that Nate Thurmond would be there...but is the marketing department asleep here?

It was said above. This is for BGSU and Anderson Arena, not the team. If this team hadn't won a game all season, this game should still be a sell-out. Purely for the history, if nothing else.

We will not be hosting a WNIT home game this year.

I've gotten 3 or 4 e-mails the past 6 weeks or so from the athletic department about this game and the B!G event after the game.
