Birdman leaves and returns with more frequency than Brett Favre...

For Birdman, keep this in mind as you continue your posts: in the immortal words of Mark Twain, "It is better to keep your mouth closed and let people think you are a fool than to open it and remove all doubt."
(FYI, Birdman, Mark Twain was a famous American author and humorist, who wrote such American classics as the Adventures of Huckleberry Finn. Most students in grade seven or eight have read this novel. Oh, I guess that is past your achievement in education...)

Re: wins next season
Alright birdman, I know I shouldn't take your bait, but I will. Let's run down the schedule shall we?
at Idaho - Long trip. This was a close game, a heartbreaking 43-42 defeat in the 09 Humanitarian Bowl. The Vandals should arguably have the edge here but it's not all that clear cut.
Morgan State - Win. No doubt about it.
Wyoming - Alright let's face it, Wyoming is NOT a good team at all. BG went out and cleaned their clocks in Laramie 2 years ago. I like our chances with this one.
at Miami - Miami is a real roller coaster, they won the conference this season, the year before they only won 2 games (gee, I wonder how that could've happened?) BG has won 2 of the last 3 in Oxford.
at West Virginia - Alright, so BG probably won't win this one. Fair enough, moving on.
at Western Michigan - Western Michigan wasn't that great when they had good offensive talent and some solid defenders who have now graduated. I think if the team gels a bit early this one should be a win as WMU lost a lot of talent.
Toledo - This one is a difficult one to judge as well. Toledo seems to be a team on the rise but BG beat them like a drum the 3 years previous to this one and Toledo's only won 1 of the last 9 at DLP.
Temple - Temple is another tough one to project since they lost a ton of talent this offseason. Home game too, so this could easily be a win.
at Kent State - BG hasn't lost a game at Kent State in over a decade, and the Golden Flashes are going through a coaching change as well as some major personnel changes on the offensive side. Could be another win.
Northern Illinois - This game is arguably the toughest game on the conference slate for BG, the Huskies are pretty solid on both sides of the ball. I'll say loss here.
Ohio - The Bobcats have been the team to beat in the East Division of late, but they too graduated a lot of talent this past offseason. Ohio has won the last 2 in BG though, which concerns me.
Buffalo - The Bulls are pretty much back to their normal par, which is to say, they suck. BG has won the last 4 at Buffalo.
So if I had to guess, worst case scenario, BG beats Morgan State, beats Wyoming, beats Temple, beats Kent, and beats Buffalo to finish 5-7. Maybe they lose a game they shouldn't in there, but then again, Miami is winnable, Ohio is winnable, WMU is winnable. Really the only two games all season that I think are out of reach for BG are West Virginia and Northern Illinois, and the latter of the two some would call debatable. The point is, we don't have any Ohio States out there to play next year. If the team finds their QB and gels early, it could end up being an 8 or 9 win season very easily given the teams that are on the slate.

NIU has lost some talent on the O-line and of course, Spann, but they always seem to come up with a good RB to replace whoever's leaving. But then you have another new coach with another new system and a tough rec4ruiting year with some frosh leaving NIU commitments to head to Minny. NIU is beatable for good teams. If BG loses to Morgan State I foresee great periods of quiet descending on Perry Stadium and lots of available parking.
I see BG getting 4 wins, doubling last year's total. You're still a year away from a decent season, IMO.

Toledo wins in a walk-sorry. No Gradkowskiesque heroics required this year. Morgan State, Wyoming, uhhhh- well there oughta be two other games in there SOMEWHERE.....maybe OU-they're always overrated, at least by their fans. We've beaten them something like twenty years in a row so BG might beat them. Temple-no. WVU-no (unless Dakich returns to coach them), Miami-no, they're Miami, maybe Buffalo or Kent but they're road games and Kent is getting better. WMU-no, lots of airpower which as I recall is not something BG stopped well last year.
Re: wins next season
AS far as the Man from OU he was my brother, if BG wins I'll go away that won't happen (winning that is) So your saying 5-7 that's 23 loss in three years AT BEST GB handed this guy some great players, three year starters and still lost six games. The coach:s don't have the goods. He has the talent. Yes, i know about the hard times, Bottom line the qb lost 9 games. He's not the guy to lead use to the promise land. What happens if you win five games. Do you renew this guys contract. Hell no, he has beat this program down to the worst in the country, or have you forgotten that. Cut the BS I'm a BG guy, Stop kidding yourself. You think I"m bad now. Loss 4 out of five and see who goes away. Your comments, fine and I can deal with that. Show me the money, 2-10, fact on paper ran off way to many players, Now you give me some facts on what he had done in two years instead of your poor grammar can't spell yayaya. Again odd makers has you at 23 percent to win 3 games. How good are we? lets talk about how stupid I am. What about some talk of a bowl game, winning the Mac a top 25 team. Only thing I get is I'm going home and taking my ball. Nobody wants to hear from you anyway. Your losers bottom line not just losers the worst in the country. Let get on another subject, football the few years is going to be real bad trust me.

UT wins in a walk? At the Doyt? My, my, my ...you Rockettes win a game and it goes right to your heads. Last year was an aberration...2011 will see a return to the normalcy of us ruling over you.

birdman...what players did Clawson run off ? What "great" players from the Brandon era were here last year that didn't get to play?

I think it is great that they are so confident, and the players are even running their mouth in the news!
