I'm not really a big NBA fan. I enjoyed watching the Cavs with LeBron, but haven't watched a game this year. I've got tickets to go up Friday night and see the Blake Griffin show. I expect he'll go for about 30 points on 15 dunks against this crap Cavs team.

Mike, I know you're in ... or at least headed for....sunny Fla. as the rest of us watch the beautiful snowflakes fall gently, and some so gently into our yards and driveways.
But, if you haven't heard, the Cavs have released Leon Powe, traded Mo Williams and Jamario Moon for LA Clipper's PG, and, probably more importanly, a possible lottery pick.... also picked up a couple of guys from Boston, included a center... I'm not sure of the names involved with that deal, but they only gave up a 2nd round future pick for these guys.... so debatable how much help they'll provide.

Boston had to dump some playes/salary after making their other stupide trade. Just so happened that the Cavaliers had already been talking to them about trading Parker for one of these guys and/or a Celtics 2nd round pick. Quickly turned it around in the Cavaliers favor when the C's needed to dump guys. Haragoody, a rookie I think, was the Big East POY a couple of years ago. The other player is some 6'11" dude from Turkey. Both were buried on the Celtics bench, so we will see if they can contribute for the Cavs. Probably will be starters.

Most years I would say the Baron Davis trade was brilliant for the Cavs, but this year, I'm not so sure. They're not going to be landing any FAs anytime soon with that cast of characters, so picking up Baron's insane contract in order to land a likely lottery pick is a good call. Unfortunately, they did it this year (which is likely the only reason it happens) and this NBA draft is NOT going to be a good one. The Cavs will, in all likelihood, have 2 top 10 picks this year, but is there really any player that you're excited about landing in this draft? They might be best served to see if they can turn those 2 picks into a lottery pick in a future year...

hammb, I can't disagree with your thoughts about this years draft. On the flip side though, I guess I would say it is still better that they are trying to do the right thing. The only way this team can improve is through trades and draft picks. So collect as many picks as you can and hope you get lucky. And Gilbert again shows his willingness to spend money by taking on Baron's contract. But I'm hoping over the next season or two, Jamison and Davis' contract become that ultimate trade chip of an 'expiring contract' that some crappy team looking to save money will dump a high draft pick for.

+1. Big money expiring contracts (along with trade exceptions) are like gold in the NBA, because there are always teams that are looking to move guys to create salary cap space.

Davis came up BiG tonight as the Cavs beat the Knicks again! LOL. Too bad Cleveland can't play NY every game....they might go 82-0. Also, Harangody looked pretty decent tonight. Sure it's just one game but it's a start....

Added to the night's festivities was the Heat getting a beat down in SA by 30 to the Spurs....after blowing a 24 pt lead to the Magic the night before. LeBron doesn't look too happy these days. Twas a good night in NE Ohio. :)

Mike, The "inconsistency" bug bit again today against Nawlins! Decent 1st half, at least at Off. end, but N.O. had 57% shooting in the half! They continued to shoot well in 2nd half, as Cavs self destructed over about 8-9 minutes in 3rd and 4th Qtrs. Davis played "ok", but forced a lot of things that backfired...but biggest problem was the big offensive lull, coupled with better, but still so-so defense.

Since the losing streak ended, I'm actually enjoying watching the Cavs. Low expectations going into the games and hard work from the team yield pretty good entertainment.

On a side note, if the Heat win the rest of their games, they'll have 62 wins this season. Last year the Cavs won 61. I guess it's pretty clear that all the chosen one had to do was surround himself with some better talent. . . .

It was so satisfying to watch DRose and company sweep the LeBitches yesterday. Rose and Noah hate those 3 so much, I'm not sure the no-heart crew in South Beach will ever be able to overcome their will. I've got a shiny nickel that says at least 67% of those douchebags are re-thinking their decisions.

I do remember having conversations with some Cavs fans on here about how bad LeBron's supporting cast was in Cleveland. Even though they've had a ton of bad luck and injury this year, I think that argument is pretty much over. LeBron carried a terrible roster pretty well during his time there.

As a pseudo Cavs fan i relaly like the Baron Davis trade. You got a player who fans want to see in Davis, and a guy who can help the team for a couple years, be the primary threat, and they got a first round pick. I agree with the fact that this seems like a week draft, but the second pick allows the Cavs to take a flyer on a high risk high reward guy and take Jared Sullinger. If they can somehow come out of this with Harrison Barnes and Sully then they thats a great trade.

J4H, the easy logic says that since the Cavs have the worst record, then, yes, LeBron is a GOD and carrried that team to 62 wins last season. But looking at the other side of the coin, how is is that the Heat will be lucky to win as many games this season as the Cavs did last season? Does that mean the Heat's supporting cast is worse than the Cavs' last season? We both know the answer to that one. So, why are the Heat worse this year than the Cavs last season?

And after seeing the Bulls sweep the Heat, it has to be getting clearer and clearer to LeDouche that if he was really serious about going to the best situation, he should have signed in Chicago. So we know what a lying ass he really is.
