H2O, I talked to an OSU fan at work at got basically the same response. All the other schools are doing it, so what's the big deal. I said, not all the schools, just BCS schools.

And not even all BCS schools ... I suspect schools like Northwestern, Baylor, etc. don't thumb their noses at the rules like this.

I just don't believe the NCAA has the guts to really level Tressel. I hope I'm wrong, but ...

Not sure if you're joking or not by including Baylor but of course they violated myriad NCAA rules in 2003 that came to light when one of their players murdered another. Their coach made Tressel look like a saint. Heck, their coach made Charles Manson look like a saint. docsports.com calls it the "worst college basketball scandal of all time". Northwestern- probably not....

The University of Michigan's football program just got an anal exam from the NCAA...major violation they found was that Rich Rodriguez wasn't counting stretching as part of practice time during the week so the players were spending too much time on "football" activities.

Given the number of recent studies that show stretching has very little, if any, impact on injuries I'd tell the kids to stretch on their own if they want to and get right down to practice- start slow and get warm then ramp it up -legal way to get more time.

The arrogance and absolute denial of O$U fans, especially the t shirt alumni, knows no bounds. I can't help but really enjoy all this.

Wow....words escape me with a comment like this....
   Please don't include ME with the entire state of Ohio.

They simply cannot accept the fact they are B U S T E D and Saint Jimmy is just as shady as the next BCS coach.

I was subbing at a high school today and while on my lunch break in the faculty lounge, one faculty member asked another what he thought about the whole situation. This faculty member (wearing an OSU fleece and watching the OSU-Northwestern game) said, "I honestly believe Tressel did the right thing by protecting his players and not compromising the integrity of a federal investigation."

I wanted to :vom:

The lawyer that sent the e-mail is now receiving death threats. Sad.

It's not the lawyer's fault. He told Tressel about it. They lawyer has nothing to do with this at all, except that he tried to head-off a potential fiasco (like what is happening now).

Someone on the MAC board said he was a ut grad.

It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

I think he played at OSU and went to law school at UT.

As much as that makes him an all-around bad person, the post above is right, it's not his fault, other than sending an e-mail to the coach to say something bad was going on. The only thing he did wrong was not turn a blind eye to wrongdoing, which is apparently okay by Ohio State standards.
