NCAA Tournament
NCAA Tournament
Feel free to move this thread to free for all or other schools but I thought we should have one thread for the NCAA tournament.
Akron plays Notre Dame in the second round (i.e. the former first round)
One thing that has already ruined this tournament is having Charles Barkley on tv. He mumbles and is dumb. He knows squat about college basketball today.

Re: NCAA Tournament
And Gene Smith, the chairperson is just as bad. He dodged all the questions on the bubble teams. And he talks about the criteria. How the heck are you supposed to attempt to get an at large bid when they keep changing the criteria every year. This year he said out of conference scheduling and head to head wasn't as important. All the other years it was an important factor???
Re: NCAA Tournament
And Florida a 2 seed and Kentucky a 4 seed. Kentucky won the SEC Championship over Florida and better RPI. I think the committee this year did the worst job in a long time and they had 3 extra teams to select. Leave it to a Buckeye Admin to mess it up

Hey I'll gladly take Charles Barkley over Billy "angry at the world" Packer. Too bad we're still stuck with Jim Nantz. I'll never forgive those two for their selection show rant against mid majors the year Packer specifically called out the committee for letting Bradley and George Mason in- Bradley won a game and Coach L went to the damn Final Four.

Agreed, Barkley over Packer. And shouldn't a broadcaster resign after making such a huge error like Packer made that year? I never enjoyed his nonsense.Dayons_Den wrote:Hey I'll gladly take Charles Barkley over Billy "angry at the world" Packer. Too bad we're still stuck with Jim Nantz. Re: NCAA Tournament
I just filled out some brackets and to my surprise, Kansas will win it all. They'll beat Ohio State in finals.
Do you start with a Final Four and work bacwards or do you start with round one and pick 'em as the games are played?
Here, good people, are my credentials: second in the office pool one year and third the next. My combined winnings came to a staggering, mind-blowing, life-changing $500+. Most impressively, neither of the years I cashed did I have cable TV.
Furthermore, when I was at 97X--Bam the Future of Rock-n-Roll-- in March 1993, we just drew teams out of a hat. I had North Carolina. Another jock had Michigan. It was winner take all but before the finals we decided to split the money whoever won. When C. Web of those Five Basketball Playing Muhammad Alis called a time-out he did not have available, I cursed the fates for making me such a coward.
Now listen, you people have your tax refunds,...don't you and your wife and kids deserve a better life?...Call me today and you will get my Blue Chip, Gold Star, Super Supreme, Lock of the Decade....It's yours free, but you have to call now...Right now, pick up the phone today and have a better tomorrow.

Re: NCAA Tournament
I have Kansas beating Duke in the finals....hell of a day so far! Morehead State nails a 3 pter with 3 sec left to stun Louisville, 62-61. Butler beats Old Dominion on a tip in at the buzzer, 60-58, and Temple just knocked out Penn State with less than a second, 66-64. I got off work this AM at 9 and don't have to go back until Sunday night. So many games to watch, so little time.
At the half, Kentucky leads Princeton by 1, 34-33, and UNC-Ashville is giving Pitt trouble, 30-25 at the half. A #16 has never beaten a #1.
Damn this is fun...

A radiation plume from Japan will settle over UC Santa Barbara and turn them into mutants. They'll ride ther mutant powers to the title.
It's not the fall that hurts...it's when you hit the ground.
Re: NCAA Tournament
I am 4 for 4 today so far! Yes I even picked the MORE HEAD upset. Now I just need my other upsets to come through. I have Princeton beating UK, Belmont beating Wisky, Gonzo over St Johns, Bucknell over UConn, Wofford over BYU, Utah State over K-State and Mizzou over Cincy.
I picked lots of upsets today. UCLA over Izzo Spartans.
So far so good!

And Richmond over Vandy. But that one I am worried about. Feel confident in all my other upset picks.
