Hat trick(s) 2005

Post by bgbill »

Sitting in my room in Minnesota, reading the hockey posts, and thinking about all the good shooters we're blessed to have this season. I can visualize at least a half dozen guys who are capable of getting a hat trick.
Anybody want to guess who and when the first one happens? Somebody's gotta score a bunch when Nelly comes back. Or maybe Rob will show a defenseman how to score his patented pp goal.
All is for the best in this best of all possible worlds.

Bru and Matsumoto, not necessarily in the same game.
"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second."

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

Those would be my choices, too FF. Matsumoto seems to have that scoring burst potential to me. I have a feeling he is going to end up with a number of hat-tricks before his BG career is over. His puck-handling abilities are already scary, and they have a lot of room for improvement.

Bru's fastbreak abilities should get him close, as well. He always seems to get himself in good position to break out when he gets a steal.

Pilk came pretty darn close last Friday.....I'd put him up on the list too.

Masumoto, Pilkington, Meloche, and possibly Unger would be my guesses.

Whitmore and Foster are also showing signs of strong offense.

Go BG!!!!

Meloche, Whitmore and Pilkington

If I had to choose guys capable of a hat-trick the most, I'd say Derek Whitmore, Rich Meloche, and Brett Pilkington. Three good playmakers there to create 3 goals in a game.
